Last minute at Sai temple on Dattatreya Jayanthi

Sairam friends,

Many people ask me, why I believe in dreams. I had dream yesterday in which Sai said Mom might have to face worst pain which I believed won’t happen as Sai is there. My Mom had chest ache yesterday and she has managed herself and recovered by Sai grace. When I reached home, I was shocked to know this and I told her may be it must have been worse and Sai saved her.

December 2009 was the best thing that happened to my Life. It must be a sunday when I was roaming in the streets of Boriwali east in Mumbai. My friend Ashish called up and told there’s a Dattatreya Temple near by and its Datta Jayanthi. He just returned from office ( He was working in Neo Sports then as an Editor and myself a faculty teaching editing in film school) and told me that it will be nice to have darshan of Dattatreya in the temple.

We met , walked just few feet to see the que starting to the little Dattatreya Temple. That was my first visit to Dattatreya temple. I know Dattatreya before but Mumbai gave me the gift of Datta devotion. We had good darshan of Datta, had prasad and reached home.

From that day, every sunday, I used to come around this little Dattatreya. I liked to see children playing around, a man coming with lots of Mantra books and reading it aloud etc,

Sometime before this, I had been to Shirdi and bought a Datta statue for myself and send another big statue for my Mom as she was going through a surgery. My Mom keeps telling me, she got well during the arrival of Dattatreya.

Today, Datta is part of my day to day life. I wonder if I am honestly devoted to him but I say “Dhattha Maharaj” “Dhattha” to priests in Nagasai mandhir. One of this priest is very sweet as when ever I go near him, he looks at me. I forget to say “Dhattha maharaj” and he stares at me. Then I laugh at him, look at Baba and say “Dhattha Maharaj”

Sai is incarnation of Guru Dattatreya and in jan 2009, I created Dattatreyalotus.com

One of my sai friend Sravanthi from a village called Machilipatnam in Andhra taught me to sing “Datta Stavam” by mobile. When ever someone is not feeling well, I recite this mantra and it has worked wonders.  Later this girl went on to work in Google in Hyderabad which was the last I know about her. Until this day, I thank her in mind for teaching me Datta  Stavam.

Yesterday it was actually Dattatreya Jayanthi. I really din’t know about it and felt bad how I missed it. I started late from office and felt like going home directly but then my friend wanted to take some print outs. So I went with him to Cybercafe. It was already 8.25 and I had some feeling in my mind that am missing something.

So I told him am going to Saibaba temple and reached her in the last minute. The Shej Aarti was over, the shop was about to be closed. I asked the boy there to get me lamps, Lit them bowed to my friends favourite Dwarakamai Saibaba painting and felt good.

Only at night a Sai friend of mine mailed that its Datta Jayanthi

I felt good. Thank God, I went to Sai Temple today because its such a auspicious day.

Sai Blessings

Venkat
