The past 2 days has really been very stormy for me. Anyway, one of the incident I wish to share is about a college boy who called up my Father to renew our News paper subscription.
There was this offer for Hindu Tamil News paper to renew for 6 month and this boy had called up my Father and told him there’s a offer for 599 Rs and he shall come home to collect the cheque. My Father kept asking me to renew online if its possible but somehow he himself felt like asking the boy to come. Twice my Father harshly told him that the boy is calling when he’s busy with some work.
Even then the boy called up yesterday when I spoke to him. I told him if I can pay by Cash. He said that only cheque is allowed to be collected. I told him that I am sorry and I can only pay be Cash. He said “If you pay by cheque, I will get 85 Rs commission. That’s why I am asking you”
He said Its OK and hung the phone. I told my father that there are people who take so much effort to earn as little as 85 Rs. Then I called him again and asked my father to sign the cheque as I never have one….he he..
The boy came when my Father was in the temple due to festival organized there. The boy said he’s studying second year in a college in Coimbatore and doing such business. He wanted my father to sign the form. So I took him to Ganesha temple where annadhan – offering of food was going on.
I told the boy to have lunch with me. Then he waited 10 minutes for my Father to sign the form. I told him the way to walk and get bus.
That’s it.
The reason I wish to write this article is that there are hundreds of Sai devotees who write me about their financial problem. There are so many more who tell me they don’t have a job.
You see. Life isn’t bed of roses. There are people who really take effort to earn a little. The boy must have spent some money for Bus ticket to reach my home. So he will hardly earn 60 Rs for what he did. May be that still was something of value to him.
I don’t want to say any advice from this story. Its for you to think and understand.

85 Rs may seem like a small amount fr some but for the young boy its his hard earned bread & butter.
I also learnt that value small things in life which contribute to the big picture…
Jai Sairam! Thank you for sharing this story. It’s a good reminder that millions in this world work so hard and honest just for a few rupees. I pray to Sri Sai to protect every one. I also came here to say my most heart felt thanks to our beloved Sai for blessing me with something that I was quite worried about. Baba gave me several signals like he does with all devotees to let me know all will be well. Yet, my fickle mind and fear was playing tricks on me. Jaisairam. Really heart touching story. Like that boy, in this world so many boys and girls are there. I specially pray for very poor people how they earn money. They get little. Sai will tak care. But one thing. Those who hav money pls do annadhan for poor people. I had too sai experience in my life. Jaisairam i love him.
