Festival of Lamps – Diwali

This morning i was blessed with a divine dream by grace of Sai. It was like am looking at a small book near a lamp. I could read whats written on the pages. It was the following…

It was a list of what we will be blessed with if we gift few things to others. If we gift kumkum – holy red powder we will be blessed with auspiciousness.  If we gift lamps and also inspire others to light lamps,we will be grow in life like better career and business…

I woke up and realized sai wants me to recite Saraswathi Sahasranama.

So i came saibaba temple, sat in Dwarakamai and recited with divine feeling. Exactly how i saw in dream as if the book was burnt and the lamp about to be put off, the temples big earthen lamp was off. So i ran inside the main hall of the Saibaba temple, requested the priest Aditya to get me wicks and lit the lamp.

I went home, made a site in which i plan to sell Sai gifts listening to Sri Suktam – A beautiful Mantra. In the evening I came to saibaba temple and lit 3 earthen lamps as usual. Again the temples big lamp was off as no oil was there. The wicks was burnt . My friend Ramanujam requested new wicks from priest. I got some oil in shop and lit the lamp.  When i was in the shop i saw a papers of some magazines. I took a paper to keep lamps over it and happy to see a beautiful painting of a temple Gopuram with a lotus and lamp flame.

I told the shop keeper “look this painting is beautiful” and took a picture of it with my mobile. Thanks to the artist for this divine painting.

I ate prasad of Mahalakshmi pooja and now writing you when night aarti is going on in temple. I wish all of you light lamps …i mean vilaku as we call in Tamil or Diya with gingely oil or ghee.   Diwali is festival of lamps. I love lighting lamps and today also am sai made me spread the value of lighting lamps.

I kept remembering my friend all this day as last year Diwali she went to Annapurna temple and took me sacred kumkum of Annapurna as she knows i love it. I don’t know whats going to happen in my life.. Sai, please do leela.

Got assurance that Raja Matangi is form of Goddess Saraswathi

Since I was thinking about Goddess Saraswathi the past 2 weeks and this morning too,the dream was as there’s a holy mantra Book of Goddess Saraswati, I recited Saraswathi Sahasranama sitting in Dwarakamai of Sai Temple. While coming back home, My Mom called up and asked me to get a dress for 200 Rs to gift the Priest’s little child. I went to ATM and surprisingly there was a shop called “Saraswathi Textiles”. Its owned by some North Indian people. I went inside the shop and told the guy that I need a dress for little baby and it must be with in 200 Rs. He showed one for 295 Rs and I told him “My Mom asked me to get a dress only for 200 Rs”.

Actually when ever my parents ask me to buy something, they tell me the price because they assume, I will spend more..he he… The shop keeper boy was using all his marketing skills and coolly said “I will give you discount. I will make it 200 Rs” . He took a small paper to make a hand written bill.

First he wrote “Shree” in Hindi

Then the date – 1/11/2013

Then he wrote 295 – 95 = 200 Rs.

I really admired this hand made bill, got the dress and came home.

I told my parents. Times have changed. There are no dress for babies less than 200 Rs…LOL…I told them the story in shop and told my Amma that these people write “Shree” on top of the Paper as blessing of Mahalakshmi.

My father went to the priests house and gave the dress for the baby. He also took the Baby with him to our home. The priest came to our home and I asked the baby her name. He said “Matangi”. I was really happy because I used to love Matangi so much and wrote below article.

Kumkum archana for Sai Mahalakshmi chanting holy name of Mathangi – Shyamala Dandakam by Maha Kavi Kalidasa

So its like, Sai Saraswathi blessed me with the dream. I recited Sahasraswathi Sahasranama, as a coincidence even the painting i saw in a paper in Flower shop has White Lotus which is auspicious for Goddess Saraswathi. Then I bought a dress for the baby in “Saraswathi Textiles” and only when we gifted it to the priest, we know the babies name is Matangi.

I told the priest “Its a beautiful name and She’s form of Saraswathi also called Shyamala Devi. The priest said “I wanted to name her Raja Matangi but simply named her Matangi as its Ambal’s name”

Let’s light lamp for life time

Diwali is usually called Festival of Lights. This time, I loved to call it “Festival of Lamps” because world is going so fast that we really forget our traditional values. No matter what you do on Diwali or how you enjoy, make sure you also light lamps and feel the presence of Goddess Mahalakshmi in the divine lamp. I wish you read the below article

108 Deepam Puja- Lighting 108 lamps for Shirdi Sai Baba inspired by Star Sai

Cultivate the habit of lighting lamps regularly in home and temple all your life. All you need is devotion and 10 minutes. If you are in hurry to start to work etc, you can light in the evenings. Even if the lamps glow for 5 to 10 minutes it brings auspiciousness in your family.

Make sure you remain in home when lamps glow and also please choose a safe place to light these divine lamps. You can light earthen lamps, silver or brass lamps. What matters is devotion.

In 2009, I celebrated Diwali by lighting Diya in Worlds Smallest Shirdi Saibaba Temple which is in our home. You can see Sai Photos in the link below.
