Sairam friends,
This blog is written based on several emails I received from devotees across India on how they feel when they are facing humiliation when they visit Shirdi Saibaba temple.
Yesterday was Guru Poornima auspicious to Sai Baba. In the local Shirdi Saibaba temple here in Coimbatore (I do not want to name the temple), years back I used to do little service during their annadhan (Mid-day meals) in the afternoon. I love the water jug and enjoy filling water in glasses to devotees before and during the time they have their food.
After my Appa passed away in 2021, I could not move out of home during the day as I work from home. I also like to stay with my Mom. I start from home after 6.30 or 7 PM and reach Saibaba temple and so some work there. I do not like to be a part of WhatsApp group these people doing service have. I like to be disconnected so that I only know that I am sweeping, cleaning near the dhuni and nothing else.
Over the past 3 years, I realized there’s a strange happening in parking space of some Shirdi Saibaba temples across India.
1.Does the temple have parking space? Then, it should belong to all devotees equality.
2.A temple can reserve Parking space for trustee. This is normal.
3.What is unacceptable is someone calling themselves as friends of so and so, I know this person in temple, I am close to so and so etc occupying parking space like an idiot.
4.They will park cars in such a way that other devotees cannot take their car out unless these idiots car is moved and this idiot who assumes he/she is a VIP or ‘Special” has to be called by the security to come to parking and take out their car to leaving space for other ordinary devotees.
I am watching this happening every single Thursday. I even think about not going to Saibaba temples on Thursdays as I could not accept this inequality shown to few who park their cars in the name of “I know this person, Do you know who I am” etc.
Yesterday, It was Guru poornima and the crowd was less. Usually, I worry a lot whenever no one visits the temple on weekdays. But on festive days, there will be too much crowd and these Fake Vips will show how stupid they are in the parking space.
I went around 7 PM to temple, waited for some devotee to leave so that I could park my car and walked towards Dwarakamai. I realized this Guru poornima, the crowd was less and I was happy. The reason is that, out of every 1000 devotee whom you consider as ordinary, 1 or 2 idiot considers him or her as VIP or Special and occupies the parking space. Even yesterday, such idiots were there. I just felt happy that they idiots did not had audience to show-off.
What you should do whenever any such VIPs block your cars in parking space?
1.Wait for them until they come near their car and ask them why they parked blocking your car? Please open your mouth. Do not be silent to fake VIPs and even if they really are VIPs, you should question them.
2.Do not hurt or scold securities. If you have guts, scold the one who blocked your car.
3.If they justify that they told the security to inform them, ask them to have a driver and let them know your 5 minutes or 20 minutes won’t be back in life. The funny part is, once a driver of a Police inspector also parked and went inside temple and I had to wait 20 minutes.
4.If they stare at you authoritatively , tell them all devotees are one in Saibaba’s eyes.
5.If they argue, counter them spiritually.
Tell them clearly “Since they made you wait for taking your car and also did not ask for apology and showing faces, they will also face all obstacles in their work and life”
This is law of Karma.
If they block your car, they will face obstacles and hurdles in all the work they are doing and their desires won’t be fulfilled.
I know devotees who block others cars and park but they atleast behave humble. But vast majority of these people come to Saibaba temple just to show-off. Make them realize Saibaba does not like such inequality. You do not have to shout but make your point. Tell them, it’s not your job to wait until they casually come after security invites them.
The problem with most of you is that you try to be decent and calm. But it’s your time. Do not let idiots consume your precious time. No one should block your way. Be yourself and fight for your rights.
Saibaba temples are like school.
If you adjust these idiots in Saibaba temple, you have to adjust them every where across India.
This is why the nation is ruined.
Note- I myself stop my car blocking others car but I wait near the car to see if I get a space. After sometime, If I do not get space, I drive outside the temple and park in the road. There were few occasions when I was offered to park blocking others car and I mostly try to find other solution or try to stay near the car. This is my principle.
I should not make others wait for the comfort I get in my life. Parking space is a comfort. I should get it with patience or I should choose to park outside the temple, in the corner of road.
Parking dispute is huge in India. All Shirdi Saibaba temples should implement rules to ensure equality is maintained. I receive emails from several places across India on how they are treated in Saibaba temple. So, I wrote this article.
