Some Saibaba devotees have done pooja in very organized manner combining with the usual prayer they do. Trust me, there are no rules in sai devotion. You can do the Pooja as you feel comfortable. Just make sure your mind , body and soul is unified in Sai bhakti.

Apart from Starsai shradha saburi pooja, many devotees used to see starsai and ask me a question about Shirdi Saibaba Coconut lamps Pooja
Hundreds of Shirdi Saibaba devotees has read that Coconut lamps pooja for Shirdi Sai Baba and asked me one question.
“Sairam Venkat, what should i do with the coconuts after the ghee/oil is over?”
The answer is simple -
What will you do with the lemon when lemon lamps are lit, Obviously you will dispose it but when it comes to coconut, sometimes the inner part becomes dark as that also burns and sometimes it looks edible.
I don’t recommond cleaning and having it as prasad. My humble request is please let it cool off few hours, Sprinkle water to make sure theres no fire or smoke and then
1.Drop in a garden or bushes or under trees ( if you have garden in home)
or
2. Once its completely cooled,its ok to drop it in the Dust BIN.
The use of coconut is only untill the lamps are glowing…once its done, you can throw them to dustbin and its ok to do it. I believe some devotees think about washing the coconut and have the inner part as prasad but in India, we can never say oil and ghee are available in various prices. Some can afford good quality and some can’t . So better follow above instructions.

I request you to remember the following friends :
To Light coconut lamps you can use
1.Ghee
2.Gingelly oil ( Til oil, Nal ennai as they call in tamil)
3. Coconut oil too but i recommond Pure Ghee to be more auspicious as anything that comes from cow brings auspiciousness)
1.Be very careful while lighting coconut lamps and keep a eversilver or bronze plate and make sure it stands steady. Do not light coconut lamps if you dont have a safe place at home. Make sure you remain in home when lamps are glowing..it takes few hours if you use Ghee.
If you have to go out then dip the wicks inghee and make sure its completely off and then move.Keep in safe distance from children…They can worship but you must keep an eye on them.
2.Use thick wicks…i mean many wicks togather to light coconut lamps as its going to glow big and beautiful. If you light in open area in temple etc, wind cant put off lamps with thick wicks.( some temples many not allow coco lamps…make sure they do and some family members may not like ..so see if all cooperates…i dont want to create problem in your house…ha ha)
3. Once Ghee /Oil is over, sometimes the coconut itself burns along with wicks. Personally i allow it to happen as i work with Dhuni with high fire while cleaning it and i believe sai will always make sure its safe for us. ..if you feel its unsafe, try to put off by using any flowers or any other safe means or sprinkle water carefuly. Then let it cool off few minutes and then sprinkle water..drop in garden or better in Dust bin after allowing atleast 5 to 10 hours to cool off.

today i went thru starsai website firstly. even i have been attracted by shri sai, for 10 years i am not very much indulged in His prayers. but i whole heartedly pray HIM whenever i remember. i have been desiring to pray HIM in shreedi, i had never got an oppurtunity. any way recently i bought a small sand statue of SRI SAI and started lighting diyas.. coincidently i happen to see yr website. (actually i was looking for vaibhav lakshmi vrata details.
u r really very blessed to start a website dedicated to talk realities of spirituality. it is really amazing and happy to hear that you happened to get lblessing from Siddhar.rare people only get oppurtunities like. actually when opened the system with very depressed mind.(i thought .even GOD is not helping me.)

i read abt doing LAKSHMI pooja. how often should we do the pooja>?( every friday i am following VAIBHAV LAKSHMI pooja for 11 weeks. )i will combine both the procedures. all poojas of SAI are very simple. i am actually praying to give me a steady mind. for the past 6 yrs i am having silent mental problems.repeatedly thinking the same things again and again. i could’nt tolerate and started doing VAIBHAV LAKSHMI pooja. now i feel better. atleast SHE has blessed me for following HER pooja. for that itself i feel very blessed. but some times my mind takes a toll on me and just reapeatedly says negative thoughts. during such times, reading websites like gives immense peace of mind.

GOD BLESS YOU. I can see all the humble words of sai coming through your mouth. Its really true and we are more than blessed to have sai in our lives. By sai’s grace and your efforts i have started this shradda saburi pooja. THANKS is a word which will definetly fall short in expressing my gratitude towards you. please pray that i continue this pooja lifelong as i decided when i started this pooja. there is a tremendous difference in my mind after this and also after reading 11th chapter of sai satcharita. please write to our sai brothers and sisters to read chapter 11 after lighting these lamps and continue reading it everyday even after they have ended their pooja. The lamps looks so beautiful , really as you said these are 2 eyes of baba. i wanted to write about this long before but was so overwhelmed that i dint find words. i do read many articles. i also read about healing . its true i also use the udi when my son or me gets sick. BABA is really great. i also try to chant 50,000 times sai but unable to do it contonously . i request you to please pray for me tht i ever keep thining about sai.
