How was Shirdi in 1979? My father lifted us and placed us near the samadhi

Sairam friends,

I had lots of dreams last night and one of them was Sai’s guidance with words Advanced Motion graphics. I woke up at 3.15. A.M,  sat infront of Saibaba, Lit lamp and spoke to him in mind for few minutes. I did a research and felt Sai wants me to use my time learning something which might help me in future. I don’t like such frame by frame work but lets see. I am wasting most of my time these days and wish I could use it productively.

My father woke up and asked if I am not sleeping. So I slept again. I woke up to see a devotees experience.

Many times, I used to meditate imagining as if I go to Shirdi during Saibaba’s life time and have darshan of saibaba.  Couple of days back, I wrote the article.

Its 1912, We reached Kopergoan by train, took horse ride to Shirdi and fell in holy feet of Sai Baba

A devotee shared her experience about her visit to Shirdi in 1979. I really feel happy to read her experience since this is the Shirdi which I would love to feel in my heart.

Read on her experience…

I visited shirdi for the first time in 1979. It was so beautiful. We started from Mumbai and reached around 2pm in shirdi. It was so quiet at the bus stand.

Our family walked toward the dharmashala (dorm ) and the cashier took some Rs 10 for the mattress and pillows and
quilts. The dharamsala was not occupied and we were the only devotees staying there.
There were few logding and small hotels . Nothing like today.

After we checked in, we went to the temple..No que, ofcourse. I was 12 year old and my brother was 10. I saw
SaiBaba for the first time. My father lifted us and placed us near the samadhi. After darshan, my family sat in the mandir and we kids, started running around the temple..can’t imagine anyone can do that now.

After the darshan we walked around the village. I remember there was few stores selling Sai baba pictures and lockets.
Also, there was no sale of those bhajans based on hindi movie songs. The roads were rough and not paved.
The flower garlands were huge and cost just few rupees, which was cheaper even during that time.

There were no restaurants or maybe there were few. We ate at the Prasadalya and there were guys on the bicylces selling batata poha ( maharashtrian dish). Also there were peddlers selling guavas and raisins

One thing I clearly remember was there food carts selling Pav Bhaji and some even sold eggs bhurji and omelette. Something which we never saw after few years.

Hope you liked Radhaji’s experience friends. I truly felt good reading this. Can we imagine to sit near Baba’s Samadhi now? Even touching Baba’s samadhi for fraction of seconds must be considered auspicious. I have heared that after Baba’s samadhi between 1919 to even in 1950’s very few devotees comes to Shirdi. So when ever babies cries in the village, their parents living in the village used to carry them to Baba’s samadhi mandhir and let them play there freely. How fortunate are these children?

May Shirdi Saibaba bless You with happy darshan in Samadhi Mandhir
