Sairam friends,
As I get old, I often imagine the day I might die. Someone will light fire on me and this body gets burnt. This is all life is about. I should see what I could do for other’s welfare so that I will be remembered. Some of the dreams I get from Saibaba are those which Saibaba wants me to work-on so that my life will be meaningful. Having said that, let me see how it unfolds.
I often receive emails from those who are planning to get married or those going through separation. So, this article is for them.
When you do some work for several years, you can easily get the crux of what people are experiencing when they email or message me. For years, one of the standard emails I receive is when someone is writing to me when they experience break-up in their relationship or when they are separated.
As I am getting old, I am able to perceive these issues as minor and something that can be easily crossed in your life. I could understand that you might feel painful but trust me, these are relationship issues that everyone faces when they are young and you will eventually figure our how to live your life.
A few month back, a girl called me from somewhere in North India. She was in tears and told me that someone cheated her. I asked her what does she do. I usually ask for age and what work they are doing. This girl says she’s working in Police department and that she’s crying even at work.
Basically, she feels some one she liked cheated her. I asked her about her parents. She seemed to be from a middle class family and I told her that she should think about her parents and not worry much. Further, I know girls who are in Army or such Police dept going through depression when they are into relationship issues.
These days, I always ask about parents because I usually ask them to realize their parents their son or daughter to be successful and not be depressed like this.
I did not even save her number. It was a one time conversation.
Similarly, there was a girl who said she trusted a guy and was living in a flat and eventually he got engaged. She said that she’s taking some tablets for depression. I told her to go back to her hometown and spend time with her parents which might relax her and asked her to take care of her health.
Similarly, some guys also write to me when they are going through relationship issues. I just tell them to see life in a bigger scale and move on and not to worry much.
Saibaba has saved me many times
I was working as a faculty in a film school in Mumbai. That’s when I learnt about Lord Dattatreya. I returned to Coimbatore when my Amma had a minor surgery.
A few years ago, I used to like this girl who was in Mumbai. She was an Air hostess but she never comes to Coimbatore Airport as a part of her work. Once, she said that she will be in Coimbatore Airport and hence I got her some gifts and went to the airport but her flight started boarding as soon as it landed and we could not meet. I did saw her from distance as she came out to the door in her flight and stood for me. I came back to Saibaba temple and felt bad.
Eventually, Her mother spoke to me saying I live too far etc. Whatever it be, I forgot her and moved on. Some years later, she called me and said “Venkat, I am getting married.” and I replied “Good”.
She was furious with me saying that I am not happy for her and that’s why I just say “Good.”. She fought with me and after that I never communicated with her.
To this day, I wonder is saying “Good” when someone you like calls and says she’s getting married not a good word to use? I felt she probably want me to be excited and say “Oh …..You are getting married. I am happy for you etc with a long sentence”. Well, I would have but honestly saying “Good” also means, I am happy for her.
This is just one chapter in my life. There are many other chapters which I better don’t write.
I am happy that I am not married because I believe my life is for taking care of my parents and no girl would have liked me. I don’t even allow my Mother to cross the road in front of our house alone and always be near her. Yesterday, my mom wanted to give some navratri gift to this aunty infront of our house and I told her not to cross the road alone and I gave it to this aunty.
Obviously, this is because even when she’s simply at home, my mom suddenly gets sick and we are awake all night.
I wanted to let you know this. If you are not able to marry someone you like, take that as a blessing. Both for you and the other person.
Eventually, you will meet someone good and kind.
This morning, Sai blessed me with a very vivid dream of Lord Rama and Sita. I will write about it in my next blog.
I wanted to add this. Last night, I went to Saibaba temple here in Coimbatore and looked at the painting behind Saibaba statue. I love the painting so much that I always imagine the day my Father took me to Kapaleeswarar temple in Chennai and we lit a lamp to Goddess Durga when I see this painting. I believe this lemon lamp is still glowing in my heart as that’s how my Appa taught me to light lamps.
I swept the Saibaba temple and sat in Dwarakamai for a while.
On the way to temple and while coming back home, I listened to my one of my favorite song. I admire the cinematography in this music video.
Cher is amazing singer and the lighting hooks you to the song. This is the greatest “Life after breakup” song of the century!
Look at the green and blue tint. It does something to your heart.
Core Themes and Lyrical Meaning
- Breaking Free from Negativity: The song starts with a realization of a dead-end relationship (“No matter how hard I try / You keep pushing me aside”) and accepts that walking away is necessary (“There’s no turnin’ back”).
- Self-Sufficiency: Lines like “I need time to move on / I need love to feel strong” show the transition from depending on a partner to building internal strength.
- “Life After Love”: The central hook asks, “Do you believe in life after love?”. Rather than just asking if romance exists again, it questions whether a person can retain their identity, joy, and vitality after a devastating heartbreak.
