Sairam friends,
Our home UPS was not working and hence, I called this guy to fix it. I try to be kind to these people when they kept delaying. Later, I told him, that we need to fix it as my Mom will loose sleep if there’s a power cut at night.
While doing so, I remembered what’s happening in Saibaba temple I go regularly and sweep. Every night at 8 PM, we sweep the main hall for which we switch off the fan. Couple of priests gets so impatient with us when we delay to switch on the fan. This week, I saw 2 more air cooler kept in the main hall. I got really annoyed with it as they switch on the fan before I finish sweeping and the dust flies.
Fan and AC are important but one should have patience for few minutes.
Further, You should ask for some comfort in life. Too much comfort will destroy our ability to survive when things are not favorable.
People who donate such stuff in temple should think twice. Why don’t you go speak to your own distant relatives or servant maid and ask if they need a fan or any other stuff. They might need it more than a temple. Most temples has abundance today. My servant maid got a gift of fan from me last year. I gave money to our painter, Meyyapan to go to shop near his hometown and buy a fan for his old mother.
Most people in India has a problem. All charity goes to temples. Nothing for people who need.
There are few whom you come across in life. Speak to them. Open your mouth and talk to ordinary people. Today, this guy finally came to fix the UPS. I gave him little money as his mother is going through chronic kidney disease. He did not accept it for I have AMC for the UPS. But I requested him to accept it.
I have a client who works for United Nations and lives in Capital city of Ukraine – Kyiv. He has broadband, fan, AC, but also hears bomb blast once in a while. He used to say, no one will target me but if a bomb falls on building, there’s no escape. Sometimes, our work demands us to live or go through uncomfortable situations.
I have a lot to correct myself
1.Discomfort on road
I get annoyed a lot whenever I drive and someone does not drive on their side of road. I yell at them. When my father was with me, he used to say, “Don’t yell at others. Don’t shout. They will come to argue with you.”
Now, that no one is there to control me, I yell at others and then, think to myself that I have to shut my mouth and keep quiet. Sometimes, we cannot correct the world. I used to think, may be, I have also do mistakes while I drive. So, I have to adjust.
But I speak for my right and others right. A girl tried to cross my car, she hit herself and fell down. Eventually, she started saying, why I am driving like this. I shouted at her saying, she should not blame others for her mistake.
Road rage is increasing in India. So, I should learn to accept any kind of discomfort on road or while I park.
I pray Saibaba to help me shut my mouth when I am driving but I am not changing. Hopefully, I will change soon.
2.Discomfort at work
You might have faced some discomfort at work. For me, all my life, I have struggled in my career. Those who email me for the first time usually write about either relationship issue or when they lost their job. So, I have a habit of requesting people to accept some discomfort at work as holding on to a job matters than living with no job.
3.Discomfort in relationship
You can manage any other discomfort but when you have misunderstanding with those whom you really love, it ruins your peace of mind. Have patience and give it some time. Maybe, everything gets better as time moves on.
Most of the discomfort and difficulties might get solved when we give some time to it. Some issues may never get solved. But we should learn to cultivate some patience.
We should accept some discomfort in our day-to-day life.
Saibaba slept in Dwarakamai which had no doors. We never know how hot it was during Summer and how cold it would have been for Sai when it’s raining.
Saibaba was ready to burn his hand inside the fire of Dhuni to save a blacksmith’s baby which fell into the furnace slipping from it’s mother’s lap.
You have a guru to accept most of your pain, discomfort and struggles to his own body.
The remaining discomfort is left for you to accept.
Accept it and have patience.
Your life will be good
Venkat
