Just be too good and don’t talk too much

Written by venkatraman

Sairam friends,

As I am going through some issues at work, I am trying to remember people I had come across who are too good and kind but they just remain good. They do what little good karma they could do. They don’t talk much.

I basically, talk to people when I travel. I mean, If I find them good and interesting, be it a guy, girl, aunty or uncle.

Couple of month back, When we boarded our flight from Frankfurt to Denver, most of the co-passengers were Europeans (Germans to be specific). But, there was an Indian guy besides me. I smiled to him and he also did. There wasn’t any reason to introduce ourselves and hence we sat quietly. I was searching for USB connectivity in the seat. He noticed it and told me where it is.

I thanked him, told my name and asked for his. He said Amit.

Later, he was searching for place to insert the headphone and I showed it to him. We smiled and never talked.

While I was having meal, I couldn’t open the pickle pack. He opened his pack gently and gave it to me saying “I don’t need it”. That was a very good gesture I found in this guy.

He never talks but if he notices if I need something, he would help me out and sit back.

Before the flight landed in the U.S, thankfully, I asked about his work. He told me he’s from Bangalore and works for a Tech Startup. He was going to U.S for a business trip for 2 weeks. I wished him good luck as the flight landed. Thankfully, I found his Linkedin profile.

Comparing that to people I come across at work, I really feel that I am not gifted to work with cool people.

If you are a Man, be gentle and just do good. Do not assume that you have conquered the world and talk too much. Atleast, don’t talk bossy and harsh to your subordinates.

Something that I liked to watch in the airports is the way Men are dressed in suit and walk with small travel bags. Well, you would wish to respect them by their mannerisms and travel etiquette.

When I was really depressed and kept telling my parents and Sai that its better I loose this job, I opened a Sai book.

It came to a place where a devotee was suffering from severe headache and he tells a devotee that his head ache is unbearable and its better to die.

Later, they go to Dwarakamai.

Baba being his antaryami knows he has severe headache.

So he gives a substance like nose power and asks him to apply it over head saying “One must not kill himself just because of headache”.

That made me realize Sai means to say its a small issue which can be sorted out and I must not keep on telling Sai that its better I loose the job.

People are bad.They are.

We can’t ignore them because they occupy huge chunck of space on planet Earth. We just have to survive.

Sai is there.

And the message is clear…

Just be too good and don’t talk too much
