The eyes of Goddess Lalithambigai are wavering like fish in a pond to care for her devotees

Sairam friends,

I shall write about few sacred names of Goddess Lalithambigai from Lalithasahasranamam. I believe it will be a blessing for all devotees of Parvathi in various forms.

“Vakthra lakshmi parivaha chalan meenabha lochana”

This sacred words means..

Goddess Lalithambigai has a very beautiful auspicious face. Her face itself is clear and fresh like a pond of water. In this pond of water, her eyes are like fishes. Her face also has auspiciousness and glory of Lakshmi and its a sacred pond where the eyes are swimming like fishes.

The words “Chalan” could mean wavering or moving here and there. Parvathi in the form of Lalithambigai cares so much for her ardent devotees. So she’s always looking for us where ever we go. She’s like a mother caring for her child. I understood that due to our desires, though we are devoted to God and saints, we might at times, do mistakes and fall into a danger. Hence Lalithambigai being our mother searches for us where ever we go, what ever we do and makes sure, her grace falls on us.

It is believed that fishes care for its small one’s ( babies of fishes) with its eyes. The babies are nourished by the sight of its mother. Similarly, the sight of Ma Parvathi is always wavering here and there to look for her children and make them take the right path in life.

There’s a chapter in Sai Satcharitra too where we can learn how a Guru cares for his devotees by simply looking at them from distance.  Gods and Saints doesn’t come down to us always. We may not be able to see them but when we keep remembering them, their eyes are affectionately watching us with love.

In the sacred words,”Vakthra lakshmi parivaha chalan meenabha lochana”

Chalan could also mean “one who is anxiously moving her eyes like fish”.  Have you seen a mother anxiously searching for a child? Then imagine the universal mother for whom we all are like a child. When we loose track of our good qualities and nature and take the wrong path, Ma Parvathi in the form of Lalithambigai is really worried and looks for us. Once her eye sight falls on us, we might be able realize our mistake and lead a good life.

Our eyes will only look at things we desire no matter how much we try to control. Hence offering our senses including the eyes in the holy feet of Goddess and Guru will make sure we see Goddess in every thing we see. She lives in every good men, women, child, trees and every life on earth.

Today is Ekadeshi. I listened to Vishnu Saharanama and Lalitha Sahasranama while writing this. I am always telling my worries in StarSai and boring all of you. So today, felt like writing about the greatness of Goddess Parvathi. I am just a bit upset why she’s not guiding me properly. May be my time hasn’t come yet. May be she plays with me as long as she’s convinced with me. May be I her divine sight has not fallen on this little servant of Sai.

Love,

Venkat
