Why most people never takes care of their health before something happens?

Sairam friends,

I usually reach Shirdi Saibaba temple here in Coimbatore after 6.30 or 7 PM. I wanted to carry my Laptop to continue my work as I spend too much time in Temple. But avoid it because, already I am not fit. I don’t do any physical work at home. I sweep our home and wash vessels when our maid Shanta akka does not come but other wise, I just sit all the day. So, I feel my time in temple is justified.

How to avoid back ache and pain in your hand?

Every Thursday, I try to reach Saibaba temple and do some work in Dwarakamai. I used to give flowers to kids. This Thursday, even before reaching temple, I had severe pain in my arms. So, I applied Ayurvedic oil at home and Eucalyptus oil in my car and did the work. The past 2 years, twice, I had such immense pain in my arms. The pain was so excruciating that my Mom makes some homemade treatments apart form the tablets I have.

Couple of weeks back, I realized that I have a pain in my back like L4/L5 Pain. For years, I have used a soft cloth in my car seat as I have seen people suffering due to such pain. So, I immediately started applying some ayurvedic oil to ensure I don’t get such issues.

If you are in IT industry, and any industry for that matter and not doing any physical activity, you should not assume that you are always going to be fine.

1.I wonder how people can use Laptop without a mouse. I assume that it’s giving stress to your palm as you are not resting your arms any where.

(But when I suggest this, I feel no one listens as they don’t have pain and they feel normal.)

2.Find ergonomic keyboard and mouse if you are not happy with current one.

3.Change your sitting position if you have pain.

4.Always use a soft cloth in your car if you are driving long. The best way to avoid back ache is to ensure you are conscious about taking care of yourself.

5.Do not assume the food you have in restaurant is healthy.

What Saibaba can teach you about taste?

People assume that they are blessed when they give food to others who need it. Well, it’s true. But you are also blessed when you have healthy food. Saints like Shirdi Saibaba have a peculiar habit. Sai takes alms for food from various houses in Shirdi. He comes back to Dwarakamai, shares some food with others and then he starts to eat. Saibaba mixes all the food he got and has it. Well, why saints do it? Probably because they do not want to focus on the taste but they perceive food as something that gives them energy to live.

We cannot ignore taste and eat like Saibaba but we should consider having healthy food.

When I was in the US, my Sister took me to Wall Drug on the way to Rapid City. On the way, I kept seeing hoarding of Wall Drug and I asked my Sister, what’s “What’s Wall Drug”. Finally, when we reached there, I really enjoyed it. It has a story of it’s own about will I will write later.

I found a shop where they had Apple Pie so asked for it. Later, they came and poured lots of Ice Cream on Apple Pie. The Apple pie itself was tasty and now, add more Ice cream to it to make it sugary? I realized that’s why American’s has so much health issues. In India too, we are gradually getting addicted to more and more taste.

Offered a little baby in Saibaba’s holy feet

As I was in Dwarakamai, a family came and the elderly lady, kept saying something to her son. I took a flower from Sai’s portrait and kept it on the palm of baby for her to hold it. Her Father then requested if I can carry the baby and offer in the holy feet of Sai as a blessing. I was reluctant as I do not carry babies far I don’t know how to hold.

I thought for a while and carried the baby in my arms and offered it in the holy feet of Sai saying “Ma Lakshmi” and gave it to her Father. They were happy about it.

That’s it for now.

Take care of your health. Eat on time. Sleep well. Be happy.
