Do we only buy what we really need or just because of the desire in us?

Sairam friends,

Last evening, My friend wanted to get back the dress he gave to alter in the Mall. So I went with him to collect it. I liked the collections there. When ever I come across girls section, I felt like making a site to list beautiful dresses. Its all so expensive in this particular shop. I was thinking my own idea about “being simple”.

People who shop expensive clothes and Fashion accessories and other stuff could also be a Sai devotee. May be, they come from a elite family and they have been shopping expensive things right from childhood. I believe, its OK to spend money on such stuff as long as you do not consider using/wearing something less expensive has reduced your status.

The worst thing happening to many youngsters today is desire to buy without realizing that their parents cannot afford it.

Sometime back, I went to my friends home and saw several boxes from a eCommerce website. His Mom was worried how he buys online as he wishes and he doesn’t realize they must save to pay for his college fee.

I am not a Minimalist and wish people buy what they wish and they can afford it. At the same time, they must also think if they are really finding any value in it before they make a purchase. You can’t keep adding things in your life. This too becomes a burden.

I see so many people today buy a DSLR camera. Appreciate it. You like photography but how many of them take effort to learn photography reading few articles, watching tutorials and experimenting with their camera to create beautiful images?

The same applies for everything we desire. If you spend money on something without using it properly, it really means you did not think enough before you buy.

I have promoted eCommerce websites and might continue to do it in future. At times, I ask myself, am I making people get addicted to shopping? This feeling in me made me write this article.

Here are the rules you can apply…

Please buy anything you wish, if you can afford it.

Do not get addicted to purchasing using Credit Card or any other loan.

Teach your children to learn the value of things they buy. Tell them, what you can afford and what you can’t.

Use what ever you buy to its best if you really like it.

Anyway, though I write about shopping, I am little upset these days as people around me started asking me why am not married and advice me. It really hurts me to core. Am I stopping something from happening?

Please for heavens sake do not advice people like this when you cannot know whats in their mind.

My Sai alone knows whats good for me.

Baba. I don’t know how to face this.

Please save me.

Venkat

  • Sai Ram. Your shopping article is the real truth. Children have to be taught from young age about the do’s and dont’s in the net. And your article on marriage. You know if we are married definitely we’l have to run in life and if the wrong pair happens life will become real hell. So just enjoy loving baba.

When he finds the right person who really needs our love baba will surely show it to us. As a girl facing I have the same problem. Dont worry what others say they speak just because the tongue has no bones. Marriages are only made in heaven. So baba will have his own heaven for us. Jai Sai Ram
