Simple pooja for Shirdi Sai Baba

My Sai friend Deepa wrote me about the simple pooja she did for Shirdi Sai Baba. I felt its good to share with all of you so that devotees who wish can think about doing Pooja.

Today being Thursday, I had plans of performing “Shraddha Saburi” Pooja  for Sainath as usual. This time,  I am pondering over too many wishes. Wishes on what all and how all I can do Pooja, what more I can do to show my immense live to Sainath?

So, few days ago, when I question Sainath for a need, he answered me to offer him coconut and fruits. So, as he asked, I offered him coconut, banana and apple.
The neivaidya was sweet Ragi with coconut and cane sugar.

Started the Pooja, by praying Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva, Guru Datta, Lord Saraswati and all other deities. Sainath instructed me to first extend my Namaskar and devotion to other deities and then to him and I follow the same every time I do prayers. Lighted the lamps and prayed those deities first.
Then gave a water bath to Baba, followed by milk abhishega. Applied sandal paste and kum kum on his forehead, Offered flowers and chanted his name “Sai Sai Sai Sai, On Sai namo namaha, Sri Sai namo namaha, jai jai sai namo namaha, sadhguru Sai namo namaha”..
Blissful feeling I got. I thanked him for blessing me to complete the Pooja properly.

Many Sai devotees used to ask me doubts while they do pooja. I had always told them ‘Sai is a saint who has no rules. Rituals are just to connect us with God. So don’t focus on rules but the your love on God, Goddess and Saints.”

Sai will accept your devotion if you do pooja with what ever you little you have.
