Devotees Experiences

What if Sai devotees during Saibaba’s lifetime preferred to be anonymous?

Sairam friends,

I almost stopped posting devotees experiences for some devotees share their experiences saying keep my name anonymous. For Gods sake, please understand, for years, I myself respected devotees’ privacy and used only their first name. I bet most Indian names are common names and hence none can find it’s you. And even if they find, I wonder what on earth they are going to do?

Years back, One of this girl submitted a devotees experience on how Saibaba blessed her to get admission to do Ph.d abroad. Later after few month, she asked me to delete the name from first name to only N or something I forgot. I did it. Later, after few years, I even deleted the video I made about this experience. Believe me. I felt, it does not make any sense when you do not wish to share your first name in the name of privacy. Well, in that case, it could be safe in your personal diary and not online at all.

Secondly, most devotees write email or even call me saying they do not want to introduce themselves.

People do not respect others time. When I listen to someone, it’s my time which is getting consumed. I have to understand your context and hence I ask questions.

Honestly, I should know who is messaging me and whom I am talking to. So, I always make it a rule to ask, where they are from and what they do. Sometimes, I ask for age to learn their current situation in life. Someone in 20s speaking about worries in family or struggles in career is different from someone with same issues in their 40s.

I will give you 2 such calls both from US: I cannot reveal the full story as I keep all my conversations and emails confidential. So, I will give a summary of it.

Devotee 1:

The other day when I was in Saibaba temple, one of this lady called me from the US. She spoke about issues with her husband and that she continues to wait for him to come back to her after 2-3 years of separation. I asked her where she’s from, is she working, and what her parents are suggesting. Then, I gave her some suggestion based on my thought process. I did not save her number. I don’t even remember her name but when I speak, I try to understand the context.

Devotee 2:

This devotee too called me from US about some issues with her husband. This time, I asked for her age. She should be in late 40s. So, I told her not to worry much and focus on her daughters.

For devotee 1, it’s a matter of deciding what to do next and she’s in serious trouble. For devotee 2, she has lived her life and hence I was convinced, her current issue will get resolved over the years.

I would have not been able to share my thoughts or guide them had I not known little about them. My guidance has always been practical and not spiritual. Basically, people who trust me are writing or messaging me. Others can just ignore.

Saibaba will know about you. I know nothing about you. So, I should have some context before I utter a word.

I have never met most of my Sai friends. Firstly, because rarely anyone writes to me from Coimbatore where I live and I hardly travel anywhere as I live a life around my Mother and her well being. Since my mother can’t travel much, the maximum I could do is to take her and our neighbor aunty and uncle to temples which I can visit and return back home the same day.

But I have seen life of hundreds of Sai devotees as they email me or message me. Most of the problems will get resolved when we have patience. Some issues will never get solved. We have to accept it and move on.

Having said that, the message I wanted to convey in this article is this.

Do not fear to reveal your name. When you share Saibaba experiences, be proud of conveying your name. This makes stories beautiful.

I am running StarSai for 22 years. Even I forgot what I wrote few years back.

Think about a Sai Satchritra without name of any devotees. Will you be happy to read devotee 1, devotee 2 , some devotee, Anonymous devotee or do you like to read Hamadpant, Shayama, Kaparde, Tayasaheb Noolkar, etc.

We are remembered by our names and what we speak and do.

Your name is your treasure, privacy matters but none can find you just by your first name.

Names are very important in spirituality.

Privacy matters too. Do not do anything if you feel little concerned. If you decide to keep things to yourself, why be anonymous? Just write it in your diary or keep it to yourself.
