Saranaagathi - Total Surrender in the holy feets of Shirdi Sai Baba The greatness of Shirdi Sai baba can be realized only when a devotee leaves all his cleaverness , interest in sense pleasures and even the act of securing himself in the holy feets of Sadguru Sainath... Saranaagathi starts from little deeds like offering Dakshina to Sai, offering a Bad habit ,offering a relationship which is giving us pains and ofcourse gradually we must grow internally that we offer ourself completely in the holy feets of Shirdi Sai baba. Friends, i wish to share below incident with you as saibaba himself provides us such situations to see if we are completely surrendering to him. The one who always imagines that his desires be burnt and let saibabas desires act on me, will surely experience the greatness of Sai Leela in his life. How Saibaba pulled a ordinary indian selling tanjur paintings to his holy feets : sairam friends Usually i sit near dhuni in Saibaba temple in our town. Today i felt like sitting near water tank. It was too dark, i felt like having tea in the shop near by but something made me sit and open the book of Shirdi Sai baba which i always carry with me. I was speaking to my friend vengadesh. we were alone there and after a while another man was sitting in edge.Then vengadesh got phone call and moved away.... Conversation about Saibabas aarti and Shirdi pilgrimage : The other man asked me when Saibaba's night aarti will start. I said it will start at 8.40 and in shirdi it starts at 10.20 approx. He replied saying he has travelled to many places in north india but have never got a opportunity to go to shirdi and have Darshan of Saibaba in holy place like shirdi. He said devotees say " Sai has to call us " . Light lamps and pray saibaba for blessings to go shirdi : As usual , i smiled and told him light lamps regularly which will gain him enough blessings to break obstacles and he will get chance to go shirdi. I also told him, its not enough to simply travel to Shirdi, one has to chant saibabas holy name "sai sai sai " , read sai satcharitra and do such bhakti . The more we are devoted to sainath when we travel to shirdi, the better our experience in shirdi. The man whos name i still dint asked was telling about his sai experiences This man is living in my town in tamilnadu. Seems he goes to trichy - thanjavur, gets thanjavur paintings , takes it to north india and sells them. This is business. It seems he used to take around 20 paintings with him in train. The total weight will be around 350 kgs. He stays in a regular hotel in Gujarat for past 12 years.so its known place for him.... No sales of paintings - Depressed with just 50 rupees in hand : Once he already spent 20,000 rs staying there for 15 days but no sales of Tanjur paintaings. Everyone were telling "not interested." He was very much worried...He had only 50 RS with him and wondered how he will manage to have food, pay auto, hotel etc. He mentioned that since hes known to hotel and other people for 12 years, they trust him even if he dont have money. Irrespective of this naturally it pained that he had spent all the money this time. Blessings of a Saadhu with satka ( small stick ) : He saw a saadhu with satka asking for food and money....the hotel manager shouted at the saadhu ( ofcourse now a days we can't trust all people who takes the name of sai , i personally request the readers to realize only very few such saadhus are really serving saibaba ...so we have to be careful as many are greedy for devotees money ). This devotee was not deeply involved in sai bhakti at that time...he only prayed Mother - Annai aravindhar of pondichery. He said from 1985, he simply visited saibaba temples with out much devotion. When he saw the saadhu, the saadhu asked for 50 RS. This man had only 50 rs in hand.He wondered whom to pay. hotel or next meals or for auto fare and how he will manage to come back to his home town. Irrespective of all his worries, he had a desire to help the saadhu who seemed to be needy. So he immediately gave the remining 50 rs to the saadhu. The saadhu has kept his palm over his head n also the satka , blessed him saying what ever he wish will happen. Then saadhu added , i will eat for 10 rs and rest i put in sai mandhir. The man has said its ok. He need not explain how hes going to spent it as he gave it whole heartedly. Sai leela happens later : I wonder how he spent the rest of the day.... Next day morning this person woke up late at 8.30 as theres no money and he felt theres no point in waking up early as theres no money at all with him. Few minutes after he woke up, He got a call from a person asking " you said about bringing thanjavur paintings but din't call me so far ? " That person asked him to show all 21 paintings, selected 13 paintings payed next day itself... Another Sai Leela experienced by Tanjur painting seller : This time too he was not getting any sales. He was in a town in Gujarat which is thousand miles away from our home town. He was depressed that he has come all the way but not even a single sales. He went to sai mandhir, with tears droped the last 100 rupees he had with him in annadhanam daxina box...( the daxina box kept from which the money is used for offering of food to devotees )
Soon, he sold 3 paintings and made some profits and came back to home town happily. Good qualities of this men : Friends, let us understand good qualities in each man , women and child. This man said since saibaba is helping him make a living, as soon as he earns money , he will give 100 to 500 rs for Annadhaan ( food offering ) in the saibaba temple in Gujrat and also our hometown in tamilnadu. He said greatfully " Saibaba is helping me , so let 10 people have food in the money i earn " The man whos is a complete stranger to me told me with these 2 incidents reinstating the idea i had about "Total Surrender - Saranagathi in the holy feets of Sadguru Sainath " Moral of the story : "we have to totally surrender to Sainath.....if we do some thing on our own thinking we act smart, then it means we don't trust sainath. Ofcourse saibaba asks us to work hard, try something and be pure . At the same time we must have great trust and unshakable faith on sai baba of shirdi. We simply have to surrender to saibaba and act egoless ...our thoughts, body, mind, soul, actions everything must be offered in the holy feets of saibaba. Thats Saranaagathi...total surrender when we have such a great faith that even when theres no Penny in my hand, when there seems to be nothing positive, we must honestly with pure mind surrender to sainath and BELIEVE that this great saint will surely save me. Friends, did you see how beautifully sai saved this man for the trust he had on sainath. Another moral is that saibaba never bothers even if you offer lakhs of rupees as dakshina keeping few more lakhs safe with you. Sai has said this words during this life time " I will take away the wealth of the one whom i love the most " Many devotees who went to shirdi during saibabas life time did had this experience. Sai used to ask for all the money in their pocket as dakshina. Infact i also once spent lots of money in shirdi and cried in shirdi all through that trip due to some bad experiences. But the next shirdi trip onwards i only gained from saibaba....Sometimes saibaba takes away our wealth and sometimes he gives us in abundance. We must love saibaba in all such situations in our life friends. friends even today the man was sitting sadly as some finance problem ...some how by sai grace i got a beautiful message today I asked saibaba to show me the right job / business he wants me to do and settle in life...further i also wish to say that saadhu said where ever you go do naam smaran.( Chanting of Gods name ) We all at starsai family are already doing Naam smaran "Sai sai sai " but we have to give more importance to it friends. how beautiful is this sai leela C.Venkat Raman - 5:05:2009 Always in the holy feets of shirdi saibaba You can email me from the email id in Home page.
