Goddess Parvathi as Thaiyalnayagi glittering – Turning her to Gold
My Amma was making 108 Modhakam yesterday and my Appa went to the Siddhi Vinayaka Temple in our colony to give the Modhakam to devotees. My Father wanted me to take pictures of all the Gods and Goddess in Temple as they had offered Kavasam – A auspicious covering of Statues in Silver.
I initially get irritated when ever anyone asks me to take Photos in public places as I don’t want to disturb others privacy. My father wanted me to take it with mobile camera and I doubted if the results will be good. Surprisingly it was really good enough to print and I loved it most.
Now let me tell you the Sai Leela during his life time in Shirdi. I already wrote this but wish to tell you again.
Sai asked the Silver Watch as Dakshina
Once a devotee came to Shirdi in search of his Brother. As soon as he stepped in Dwarakamai, Saibaba asked him to go to Khandobha Temple. He was really surprised to see his brother who was lost years back sitting outside Kandhoba Temple – Upasani Baba. He gave him dhoti and other stuff but his brother and felt happy.
He came back to have Darshan of Saibaba in Dwarakamai. Sai blessed him. There were few fakir ( Saints) sitting near Saibaba. The devotee was wearing a silver watch. Sai baba asked the devotee for dakshina. He said, “I only have money for return journey baba”
Baba said “Its OK. Then give your silver watch”
The devotee regretted for few seconds but removed the watch from his hand and gave it to Saibaba as dakshina. Sai immediately gave the watch to the fakir sitting near him. ( Sai never keeps anything for himself)
Sai gave him Udi and the devotee started from Shirdi to his friends home in Pune.
Sai blessed him with a Gold Watch
While conversing with his friend in Pune, he told the incident which happened in Shirdi and asked him “What will be the cost of similar silver watch at present”. His friends brother who also was listening to them came to the devotee with a Gold watch worth Rs.60 ( in 1910’s) and said “Please accept it as our Gift”
The devotee was surprised by the miracle of Saibaba and how the dakshina offered to Saints multiplies a persons punya ( Good deeds).
He said to his friend, “I gave a silver watch to Saibaba and now see you are gifting me a Gold watch” and accepted it as a Gift of Sai himself.
Today, I felt like writing because Sai may or May not bless us with what we desire but Sai is at least trying to help me which makes me happy.
My experience with Parvathi in the form of Thaiyalnayagi
Thaiyyalnayagi is not new to me when it comes to dreams. In 2009, I had a dream as if I have darshan of Thaiyalnayagi Amman and my nerves in legs suddenly pulled. I used to have such pain very rarely. It pains like anything. I woke up with tears in eyes and prayed the Goddess.
I really don’t know she’s the consort of Lord Shiva – Vaidheeswaran in Vaitheeswaran Koil
In 2009, When I went to few Temples with my friends, I also went to Vaidheeswaran Temple. I shall write few words about the Temple from Wikipedia.
Vaitheeswaran Temple or Pullirukkuvelur (Tamil:வைதீஸ்வரன் கோவில்) is a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Shiva located in Tamil Nadu, India. Shiva is worshipped as Vaitheeswaran or the “God of healing” and it is believed that prayers to Vaitheeswaran can cure diseases. It is one of the nine Navagraha (nine planets) temples associated with the planet Mars (Angaraka).
During the Ramayana period, Rama, Lakshmana and Saptarishi have worshipped the deity in this place. It is believed that Rama and his brother Lakshmana cremated the vulture king Jatayu who was killed by Ravana when he tried to prevent the abduction of Sita) at this place. There is a pond at this temple called Jatayu kundam (pot of Jatayu having holy ash of Vibhuti).
One of the nine planets, Angaraka (Mars), suffered from leprosy and was cured by Vaidhyanathaswamy and from then on it is treated as one of the Navagraha Temples for planet Angaraka. Parvati, the consort of Shiva, asked her son, Subramanya to appear with one face from his regular appearance of six faces. When he did so, she was pleased and presented him with vel (a weapon) to slay the demons.
Subramanya overcame the asura Surapadman (a demon) and in the war, his army was severely injured. Shiva came out as the healer Vaitheeswaran and cured the wounds.Like Panneer ilai Vibhuthi of Tiruchendur Temple, The “Tiruchaandu Urundai” (called in Tamil) which is covered with Vibhuti of deity heals various incurable diseases. It can be procured at the temple.
Coming back to our Story…
Goddess Parvathi as Thaiyalnayagi glittering – Turning her to Gold
In our colony too, We have a sannidhi in Ganesha temple for Lord Vaidheeswaran and Thaiyal Nayagi. I took photos of all the Gods and showed my Father and his friends. He asked me to take picture of Goddess too. I went and took photos of Thaiyalnayagi.
I liked the Photos and felt like going back to the Goddess and trying more Photos of Parvathi. I truly loved the lighting inside the Sannidhi and wanted to try something creative. So tried to change the color Temperature and found the Kavasam were Glittering…
I came to my Father and asked “If the Kavasam were made of Silver or Gold”. He and his friends said, Its Silver. I said, No its Gold..See this and every one were happy to see the Goddess like this.
Goddess Parvathi as Thaiyalnayagi turned to Gold
Thaiyalnayagi Amman smiling
Hope you also felt like having Darshan of Goddess Parvathi in the form of Thaiyalnayagi friends.
My Amma loved these Photos a lot and felt very divine. She prayed for me looking at the Goddess to bless me with a Good life.
In the evening I went to Rathna Vinayagar Temple and also Annapurana Temple. I offered a Rice bag and had blissful darshan of Annapurna. The old priest there always smiles to me and says ‘Thambi” as he see me as a little brother to him.
I love the Kumkum of Annapurani devi.
Then I went to Nagasai mandhir, did meditation and had Vision of Goddess Durga, Murugan and Aadhi Para Shakti. I usually don’t have visions often and when I do have it, I feel they are near me. Since Nav Rathri is nearing, I wish Sai and Goddess does a leela soon.
Moral of the Story
Well. I don’t know whats going to happen in my life but I can tell you something from this. There are many friends and even couples who split because of misunderstanding. One must realize everyone has a good side to them and never speak bad of others.
Similarly both men and women have good nature in them.We must have patience to realize the Gold in people whom we know.
As my Mom always tells me “Appreciate the good nature from others and leave their bad qualities”
Baba, Please do something.
Bless my parents with good health baba and make them happy.
Always in the holy feet of Shirdi Sai baba
