A Cute Dog in Saibaba Temple near Dwarakamai and How Sai cured a devotee?

Sairam friends,

I saw few videos of Hackathon * (The event organized for developers to come out with a product with in short period of time) at work. I really liked it as I believe that’s how quick ideas must turn in to a workable prototype. May be it doesn’t prove true to all projects but some times we take too much time in coming out with something useful. (disclaimer – I am not a developer but when I was a freelancer, I had to work faster than I am now in a regular job)

I went to Shirdi Saibaba Temple in my hometown, went into Dwarakamai, just took little Udi and came out as it was crowded. I have no where to go during Thursdays. So I go near Car Parking where no one will be there and stand there looking at Saibaba on Terrace for few minutes.

When I was about to Start to home, I saw a very cute white Dog standing out side Dwarakamai.  Dogs usually don’t come into Temple especially on Thursdays due to crowd. So I was happy to see this Dog.  I also saw a Dog in dream the previous night. So felt Sai wants me to do good to the Dog.

A devotee offered some Biscuts. The Dog had them and I touched it. It was not angry. It turned to me and I felt may be She will bite me and moved away. I quickly went out to get biscuts. I got two packets of biscuts. A lady with her baby was taking alms outside Temple and I have one packet to her.

I came back inside and searched for Dog. Few Sai friends helped me call the Dog near me and they took were happy to see the Dog. I dropped the biscuts which the Dog ate peacefully. Then I came home.

The reason I write this is that there are few devotees who will consider Dog as Sai and feed it. Its good as long as you are feeding the Dog. Its not only the Dog whom you spot inside Temple. Any Dog you might come across in streets also needs your affection and care. When ever possible, If I see  a Dog in roads or streets where I go, I get a Biscut packet and feed them.

Be careful when you feed Dogs as sometimes many Dogs will come around you. You must never help the Dog to spot what you feed as it will think you are taking the food back and bite you.

Once a devotee in Saibaba temple gave bread to a Dog. It coolly waited for another Bread. The devotee thought, the Dog could not see the bread and showed him with his finger. It bite him so badly that his wife shouted. I quickly called my friend and asked him to take the devotee to Doctor.

Sometimes, We only try to go good but we might have to face some pains. During such times, never get angry on who created you the problem. Have patience. Sai will certainly do good to you.

How Sai cured a devotee?

There’s a very famous Sai leela which all of you might know. Its in Chapter 13 of Sri Sai Satcharitra.

Bala Ganpat Shimpi
A devotee of Baba by name Bala Ganapat Shimpi, suffered much from a malignant type of Malaria. Bala tried all kinds of medicines and took treatment in various ways but he was not cured. The fever did not abate a bit and so he ran to Shirdi and fell on Sai Baba’s Feet.

Baba looked at intense faith and devotion of Bala Ganpat Shimpi.

Baba gave him a strage recipe, in this case as follows:-

“Give a black dog some morsels of rice mixed with curds in front of the Laxmi temple”.

Bala Shimpi did not know, how to execute this recipe; but as soon as he went home, then he found rice and curds. After mixing them together, he brought the mixture near the Laxmi temple. Surprisingly, He saw a Black Dog near the Laxmi temple which was hungry and wagging its tail.

He placed the curds and rice before the dog. The dog ate it and, strange to say, Bala got rid of his Malaria.

By this Sai leela, we understand that every health issue or disease or difficulty in life happens due to one’s past Karmic deeds. We are suffering due to past bad deed. So when ever you get opportunity, try your best to involve in Good deeds.

Do little favors you can as much as you can afford to do good to your friends, relatives or any poor and needy. Make sure, you never harm any life on Earth be it Birds or Animals.

May Shirdi Saibaba guide us in the path of light.

Venkat
