Sairam friends,

Shirdi Saibaba is a saint who accepted devotion offered in any forms and ways. Many sai devotees used to write me that they did Sai Nav guruvar vrat for 9 weeks and some would say that they did StarSai Shradha Saburi Pooja looking at our site and recently i hear many sai devotees interested in lighting Coconut lamps for Saibaba.

Shirdi saibaba pooja done by one of my Sai Sister lighting many lamps

Honestly, You can do any pooja or way of worship you wish pray Shirdi Saibaba:

In 2010 i receieved a mail from a sai devotee who said StarSai is misleading in a way because when Sai lived, were there any of these pooja/rituals. Then why do you direct sai devotees to shradha saburi pooja, lemon lamps pooja and ofcourse coconut lamps pooja etc.

Ofcourse i also believe Saibaba can be worshipped in any comfortable ways you choose friends..

1. You can sing/recite Shirdi Saibaba aarti all 4 times of day or atleast listen to it once

2.You might choose to do holy parayan of Sai Satcharitra by Hamadpant or atleast a page a day.

3.You might simply visit a Near by Shirdi Saibaba temple and relax with Sai.

4.You may also involved in any good deeds like helping someone in education, giving food to hunger, taking someone to hospital etc. While doing this if your mind keeps chanting “Sairam, Sairam , Sairam, That too is a blessing from sainath.

Then why i request Devotees to light lamps, offer naivaidhya(food) to sai,Involve in good deeds ?

Here are the points…

1. Poojas in StarSai can help devotees to divert their mind from worries and problems:

If you keep looking at a Shirdi saibaba statue and Photo in our house pooja place for five minutes with devotion, i am sure you can feel sai is looking back to you. Sai is present where ever devotees look at him with love. But when you are worried about yourlife, your parents health, some relationship problems, childrens education, problems in office etc will you be able to focus on Sai?

Instead lets say you play a Sai Aarti on computer or DVD player or ipod and take a print out of Aarti from starsai and recite it everyday atleast the days you are free like sunday etc, wont you feel happy? I am sure atleast for few seconds you will forget your problems and feel peaceful.

This is why i encourage sai devotees to play Shirdi Saibaba Kakad Aarti every morning even if they are in hurry to go to office. ( If every one in home agrees to do so , or its ok)

2.Most of the pooja i wrote in StarSai involves lighting lamps:

Personally i am a believer of “Lighting Lamps” friends. Sai always tells things indirectly through incidents in his life. We all know from Sai satcharitra that Saibaba lit lamps using water in his holy Dwarakamai.

see more about value of lighting lamps at

ShirdiSaiLight.com

Lets say some one writes me about their problem and ask me to pray for them. I myself will come tired from Office or some work in Sai baba temple in my home town. Will i be very fresh and in peaceful mind to pray whole heartedly for that devotee. Ofcourse i am a well wisher of every pure hearted Sai devotee or anyone whos not a devotee at all if they are good souls. So i will surely pray for them.

3.My intention is to show devotees a way, Try to make them take one step ahead to feel the Sai in them :

Sometimes Sai devotees even light many lamps and write me back with photos how beautifully they did pooja. I will be really pleasing to see how simply they did pooja and how my words has become action of divinity.

Which is what i try to do here in StarSai

“What we write must bring about a Change in others life. “

When a devotee did some pooja for Sai, i am sure they would have diverted their mind towards Sai instead of worrying about past and future. They will belief that Baba is going to help them for sure. This enhances faith which is all we need.

Their heart gets purified and inspires good Thoughts and actions. It will surely help them take good decisions in life.

I can pray for a Devotees welfare but how sweet it will be if a Devotee themseleves realizes the Sai in them?

Sai is Antaryami , The one who lives in the ways of your heart. Sometimes its hard to realize this and the devotee this he/she is different from Sai .In Sai Satcharitra we learn that Devotee and Guru are one and the same. Thus while doing pooja, in this fast world , devotee subconciously realizes that Sai lives in themseleves and working for their welfare.

Example :

A devotee saw this article

Chanting “Sairam, Sairam,Sairam” 50,000 Times a day

and mailed me it doesn’t make any sense because will Saibaba bless only a person who chants his name so many times? Trust me, My intention is to express how much time is there in a day to chant the holy name of Sai.So its surely possible to chant and remember Sai internally by doing such Naaam smaran

when we travel in vehicle,

when we do any Odd job

or when we relax /worry about past and future.

Why not spend just few minutes to Chant the holy name of our sweet Saint?

Same is the case with the pooja i wrote in StarSai…

Your mind gets involved in something good , then thats my goal. I again and again request devotees not to stick to the pooja/ritual methods. If you don’t have earthern lamps light lemon lamps, if you can’t light lamps at all as you may stay in a room or in hostel..fine, just lamps in your imagination..that will do. I never say that one who does the poojas i wrote are going to be blessed and others are not.

Pooja is to help you and Sai meet – When you take time to do Pooja, you think “Sai’. Thats my Goal:

Infact there are devotees who write me that i did pooja , still saibaba has not fulfilled my desires. Friends, Pooja is for making you and Sai Meet. Its sai who decides what to give you and when to do it.

About Sai Navguruvar vrat Pooja: My opinion

Though i have wrote about Sai Navguruvar vrat pooja years back and many devotees has followed it looking at StarSai, I have a different opinion to express. Personally, i request Devotees to read a Page in Sai satcharitra instead of vrat books. I also recommond Sainath Stavan Manjari written by Das GanuMaharaj.

I request devotees to have little vegetarian food or milk, coffee, tea, fruits etc even during vrat because

Saibaba never allowed his devotees to be in Hunger. So have Little food/fruits.Please…

Saibaba himself will cook food in huge pot for his devotees and share the food he got by begging alms in five houses in Shirdi .Will such a motherly Saint allow his devotees to starve in hunger in name of a Ritual.

Its not important to Follow any rituals/methods strictly and never think only if you do, your desires will be fulfilled:

Secondly, devotees keep writing me about availability of Sai vrat book for distribution. I clearly tell them its ok if they don’t do it. some devotees are confused as many versions of such books are out there in market. So better focus on simple pooja friends..This is the reason i have a simple solution, get such books if you can or simply read a Chapter from Sai Satcharitra by Hamadpant .

The same rules appliy to Shradha saburi pooja and other pooja i wrote in StarSai…Do what you can afford and feel comfortable about doing. There are no strict rules in Kingdom of Saibaba.

I hope you understood why i wrote Pooja in StarSai and humbly request devotees to recite Aaarti, Light lamps, offer Naivaidhya ( food in little plate to sai every morning or simply a glass of water which you can later have as prasad).

Nava Vidha Bhakti from Sai Satcharitra:

I wrote this article because StarSai will live for thousands of years and during my lifetime i must write what i meant to do instead of Confusing Sai children. Infact even a devotee who does not do any pooja and simply remembers Sai in his/her own ways are blessed. What matters is purity of mind, thoughts and good deeds.

In kaliyug, Chanting Saints name is auspicious and thats something i always request devotees to do.

Kindly click here to read Anantrao Patankar story from Sai Satcharitra chapter 21 .

Choose any of the Nava Vidha Bhakti (Nine forms of Bhakti) you are comfortable with.

You will be blessed !

StarSai made by a ordinary devotee friends . i might do mistakes but what i have done so far satisfies me and i have to clarify devotees.

May Shirdi Saibaba bless you and your family with Good health, Peace and Prosperity

Venkat

Little servant of Shirdi Saibaba

Pradosham – Holy day for Guru Bhakti and Lord Shiva – Parvathi pooja

worship lord shiva and shirdi saibaba pooja on sani pradosham

( Sairam friends, Though a photo of Shiv lingam would have been best for this article, i wanted to use this photo of shirdi saibaba sent by a devotee Dheetchitha Devadoss as she sent photos of her sai with beautiful flowers many times. She sent this picture on a Holy Sani pradosham day on april 30th 2011. So to appreciate her devotion i posted this picture . Hope you like it though the saibaba picture has shake what matters is content , our devotion . so use this as inspiration to decorate lord shiva and sai )

Pradosham or Pradosh – Lord Shiva pooja and Shirdi Saibaba devotion :

Pradosham is a day which occurs once every 13 days. You can refer to Traditional Hindu calenders to know the pradosham day of the month and year. Easy way to find it is ,2 days before Ammavasya ( no moon day ) and 2 days before Full moon day will be Pradosham. If Pradosham occurs on saturday , then its called Sani Pradosham.

I humbly request Shirdi Saibaba devotees to worship Lord Shiva, Parvathi and our Guru Shirdi Sai in the evening of every pradosham.

Pradosham timings – Evening 4.30 to 6

Its good if you do pooja like doing abishekam to Shirdi Saibaba statue, Shiv lingam or participate in pradosham pooja in any temple. If not atleast remember to chant

Aum Namah Shivaya

Aum Namah Shivaya

Aum Namah Shivaya

I like to listen and recite Lalitha Sahasranamam as Goddess Lalithambigai is truly a goddess of Mercy. If not you can recite or listen to any lord shiva mantra like shivastakam , Bhilvastakam etc.

Click here for More info about Lalitha Sahasranamam

Pradosha Purana :

I got below information about Pradosham from www.shivam.org – one of the best website for Lord Shiva devotees.

Once Dhevas and Asuras using the serpent Vasuki and the hill Mandhara were trying to get Amrutham (nector) from the Kseerabthi (milk ocean). Then the terrible poison Halahalam came up. All got frightened and pleaded to Lord Shiva for rescue. Being the peak of mercy Lord Shiva ate that poison. Then as per His order they resumed their effort to get Amrutham. They got it on Dhwadhasi (twelfth moon day). Without praying and thanking the God, by whom they got Amrutham, Devas started dancing and celebrating their victory.

On thrayodhasi (thirteenth moon day) they realised their sin of not praying the God and pleaded for forgiveness. The pleased graceful Lord Shiva forgave them and danced between the horns of the Nandhi (holy bull). That time is called Pradhosham. Whoever prays Lord Shiva in that time, Lord Shiva fulfills their wishes and give them mukthi.

During Prodhosha time anointing (Abhishekam) the Shiva deity with the following is considered fruitful.

Hope you realized that because Lord Shiva and Parvathi were happy for the devotion shown on this during this time, its very auspicious to worship Lord Shiva and our Guru on a Pradosham day.

Now lets see why the Pradosham which comes on a Saturday * rarely is more auspicious

worship Lord shiva doing abishekam to Shiva Lingam on Sani pradosham and every saturday

Greatness of Shiva and Guru worship on Holy Sani Pradosham :

In Hinduism, Saturday is dedicated for Lord Shaneeshwara who is one amoung the 9 planets. Lord Sani does good for people who are honest and truthful but because we all would have done some sins in our previous birth and due to our ancestors sins, Sani Bagavan at times might give troubles, obstacles in all aspects of life.

So Pradosam that occurs on Saturday is very very important for devotees of Lord Shiva. You can do abishekam with milk , water, honey etc or atleast learn to recite any small Lord Shiva mantra. Not all can get a opportunity to visit near by temple. So i always suggest to worship Lord Shiva in your mind itself.

www.saipaadhalingam.com for more information about mind worship

What happens when you worship Lord Shiva and your Guru on Sani Pradosham :

I have read in a holy book that when we do pooja for Lord Shiva atleast by chanting whole heartedly “Aum Namah Shivaya” on a Sani Pradosham day, That night the heaps of sins of past birth is burnt or washed away by Shiva due to his mercy and the next morning we will wake up for a better life.

( dont write me your wishes are not fulfilled on sunday morning. what matters is pure bhakti and patience as sai says Shradha and Saburi and the greatest glory is yours friend )

Some devotees worship Hanuman on saturday and also Lord Ganesha to over come the ill effects of Saneeshwara. Thats fine too.

My humble request is Worship Lord Shiva every saturday evening :

1. Worship Lord Shiva -Parvathi every saturday evening

2.You can also worship shirdi saibaba or any Guru in Datta parampara like

Sri Pada Sri Vallabha , Narasimha Saraswati, Swami Samartha and our Shirdi Saibaba. You can read Sai satcharitra and also recite aarti of sainath or atleast listen to aarti.

Apart from Saturdays, Search google to find Pradosham dates of the month or use traditional Hindu calender . Worship Lord Shiva and also our Sainath on Pradosham days.

Never Miss a chance to worship Lord Shiva on Pradosham that occurs on Saturday.

The reason why Sani Pradosham pooja or vrat for Lord Shiva is very auspicious is that Lord Shiva and Parvathi will be pleased by your devotion and reduce or nullify the ill effects of planet saturn – Lord Saneeshwara.

My experience on a Holy Sani Pradosham day :

I have got to a ancient Lord Shiva temple in coimbatore for Sani pradham pooja regularly in 2005. Later i only used to serve near Dhuni and Dwarakamai in Nagasai mandhir. Today i lit lamps, got lots of Vilva leaves * Bhilva in Hindi. and offered to Shirdi saibaba, Some leaves in the sacred fire dhuni and then went to Lord Shiva sannidhi and offered Vilva leaves for Nandhi.

Then i wanted to serve my Guru sai whole heartedly. So i got into the dhuni tank which was not as much hot as it used to be. Today it rained heavily so i felt ok. I was sweating as usual , stood over heap of ashes and felt

“The greatest spiritual gift i got in my life is doing seva for Shirdi saibaba taking care of his holy dhuni, offering wooden logs, coconuts, cleaning it with iron rods, geting into the dhuni tank and wiping the burnt ashes and then filtering it once every month ”

I felt happy to stand over heap of ashes and took a sack. I started to filter the ashes into the sack all alone chanting

Sai Saraswathi

Sai Saraswathi

Sai Saraswathi

as i have my MBA exams on may 16th 2011 to june 1st.

Then i was chanting Sai Murugan, Sai Shiva and Sai Mahalakshmi.

Its a very tiresome work and some devotees asked me i need help . My friend Vijaykumar warned not to sit inside hot tank and filter udi and later complain baba that you are sick. To me its something personal. My father who had a urological surgery in jan had some minor complications and worst part is he fears a lot for a treatment next week.

Every night he has some problem like stomach upset, dizzyness and i am also not able to prepare for exams . So i prayed Lord Shiva and Sai and was filtering udi. Almost a sack full of udi came by the night shej aarti was over. I had to drop the unwanted stones in the dust bin. So carrried the dust bin in which all devotees dropped their leaves after eating prasad and dropped in the big dust bin.

Then i offered some wooden logs in the holy dhuni and came home peacefully . Once i reached home my mother said my sister called from U.S and shes also worried about father. So i had dinner, sat near father and massaged his legs chanting ‘Aum Sai Namoh Namaha ”

This evening, i lit lamps to Shiva lingam in my pooja place , recited Sai Ashtothram, Listened to Shivastakam and recited Lalitha Sahasranamam.

I want all shirdi saibaba devotees and Lord Shiva devotees to realize the greatness of Pradosham pooja and especially get into habit of Shiva pooja every saturday. If you don’t have a Shiva temple near by also please go to any temple and be with pure thoughts all saturday night.

Surely Lord Shiva and Shirdi Saibaba will bless you and your family with good health, Good education, good career , peace and prosperity.

Aum Namah Shivaya

Aum sri sainathaya namaha

Goddess Durga , Lord Ganesha and Guru’s blessings as a remedy for Lord Rahu and Ketu bad effects in our life :

Sairam Friends,

Lord Ganesha and Sainath must bless and guide me to write this article when i was really worried as my mom had some breathing problems since last night. Shes feeling much better now and i wish we all take path of devotion for a better life.

Goddess Durga and Lord Ganesha blessings as remedy for rahu ketu effects

Photos by Rajaram mama and my friend Kanna on a holy Navrathri festival with alankaram to Goddess Durga devi in our colony in this beautiful saree.

I started this article to post beautiful photography of Goddess Durga devi which was taken by my friend Kanna, Rajaram mama and myself in 2010 Navrathri festival. She’s the beautiful Durga of our Colony Siddhi Vinayakar temple .

I realized many people will be benefited if this article acts as a spark to make them take the path of devotion on Lord Ganesha, Shirdi Sai baba and Goddess Durga . So tried to focus on remedy for Lord Rahu, Ketu influences in life.

Meenakshi Amman alankaram for Durga with beautiful green parrot

Devotion to Goddess Durga lighting lemon lamps :

Devotion to Goddess Durga wards off all dangers and evils from our house, family and body. The reason why lemon lamps are lit in temples in house ( some wont light in house but i do ) during raagu kaal is to ward off the influence of Lord Raahu.

Friday – 10.30 Am to 12 PM – morning hours

Sunday – 4.30 PM to 6 PM- evening hours.

If you can’t light lemon lamps, light ordinary lamps with oil or ghee. If not on above time, atleast light any time in morning or evening on any days.

Some understanding from my experience :

Friends, i am a ordinary devotee and not a expert but just to help devotees understand the effects of Rahu and kethu , let me clarify what i read from few astrology articles.

1. Rahu and kethu are responsible for breath – inhaling and exhaling respectively. So people who have Asthma, respiratory problems or problems in the left side of the body like left eyes to left leg must worship Goddess Durga by listening to Durga chalisa or if possible light lemon lamps on friday and sunday in a safe place.

2. Ketu represents the anal part of body. People who have problems in kidney, Reproductive organs , problems in pregnancy etc can worship Lord Ganesha and Goddess Durga.

I myself have some problems and my father also recently had a prostrate surgery ( kidney ) . So i realized i must spread Devotion on Shirdi Sai baba and Goddess Durga .

Beautiful Goddess Durga - Shines to ward off all obstacles in your life

Rahu and Ketu effects on Career, Business and Bad company :

There are many problems in career, business , husband-wife-children and amoung friends if Rahu and ketu are placed in few positions in horoscope. Note – i am not astrologer, so no questions about it. My goal is to show ways to take path of Devotion along with other aspects of hardwork, honestly, truthfulness, humanity etc.

When it comes to Career , I suffered a lot with lots of disappointments, set backs for years which gave birth to StarSai.com in 2004… some people grow to big heights and suddenly come down. Its like a snake waiting to harm us and pull us down. Devotion to Guru of any Dattatreya Avatarcan surely help us

Parayan or Reading the life of saints regularly- Four Dattatreya avatars are

1. Shree Paadha Shree Vallabha – Charitramrutam – Available in Pithapuram – search google about this first Avatar of Lord Dattatreya in 13th century.

2. Narasimha Saraswati ( Narasobwadi – Ganagapur ) – The saints life in the book Guru Charitra is wonderful and reading it regularly will help us.

3. Swami Samartha – Life of Akalkot Maharaj.

4. Shirdi Sai Baba – Regular reading of Sai Satcharitra by hamadpant will make our life good as all these Guru’s wards off dangers and bad influences of any planents.

Some people loose jobs, have obstacles in studies and work place, Business etc. These too can be effects of Rahu and Ketu.

Click here for Sai Satcharitra – Life of Shirdi Sai baba

Rahu and Ketu effects on Relationships especially bad friends :

Rahu and Ketu can also bring bad company like people who are good friends suddenly behave mean to us and even cheat us. Try not to get into bad habits and use your self control and determination to give up any bad habits. Be with people who speak truth and accept you for what you are.

Please forgive me if above facts are wrong. I read in a article on net and also experienced myself. My left eye suddenly got pain while i was cleaning dhuni in Nagasai mandhir as the udi went in left eye . I have seen many times my Amma’s left eye unknowingly gets hurt but by sai grace it heals immediately.

Rahu and Ketu can also do good to you :

Trust me no planets are bad . They just do their duty based on the good and bad deeds of yourself in previous several births and your ancestors ( parents, grandparents their parents etc … ) .

Some people have Beneficial Rahu and Ketu and they flourish in life and live happily. What ever bad effects in career and health issues i wrote may be due to someother reasons also. So lets not blame Rahu and Ketu for everything bad on us. My goal is to simply help devotees forget bad effects and request Durga to do good to us.

Worship Maa Durga regularly on Friday and Sunday lighting lamps

Sai Durga Bless my Amma :

Today i started to write this article about Goddess Durga devotion as my Mother was suffering from respiratory problems. She’s managing and feeling better now. I might take her to doctor and Nagasai mandhir later if she can travel to temple.

When something bad happens to me or my family , i feel i must also do a favour to help other devotees by giving solution to them. So let this article be a motivation to show pure devotion and love on Shirdi Sai baba and Goddess Durga for life time…

The most easiest thing is to listen to the beautiful song

“Aigiri Nandini ” which i have linked below this article and if possible and if time permits please light lemon lamps or any lamp regularly in house praying Durga.

Can lemon lamps be lit in house or only in temple :

I will explain how to make lemon lamp for people who have not done it. If your parents or elders is not willing to light lemon lamps in house, don’t ask me if you can. Its your personal decision. I wonder why people say this but some feel only in temples lemon lamps can be lit.

Probably its very fierce – Ugram as lemon is acidic in nature. So i request devotees to first offer one full lemon with kumkum infront of Goddess or Sai photo to thank nature for offering us Lemon – the king of fruits in Spirituality. Then use other lemons to cut and make lemon lamps. Personally in our house we light lemon lamps every Friday and its only beneficial for us .

Trust me, Devotion has no rules.

Parents worried about their children’s education can also worship Goddess Durga along with Saraswati.

Durga decorated as Saraswati - Goddess Bless you with good education

Beautiful alankaram for Goddess Durga as Saraswati ! see SaiSaraswathi.com also

How to make Lemon lamps :

1.Take a lemon, press it on floor or any hard surface few times to make it become less harder.

2.Cut the lemon in two halves.

3.Take off all the juice by pressing in a cup , make sure all the flesh is completely off .

4.Invert the lemon gently in such a way that it makes a cup like structure where u can pour oil or ghee. sometimes, the lemon will create a whole in center which must not be used.Thats why u have to buy extra lemons.

5.Then take 2 wicks , Pour oil or ghee and light it.

6.You can pour extra oil or ghee while doing prayers, if u want the lamps to continue burning .sometimes the lemon it self will start to burn because of over head.

7.I explain everything in detail because since it involves fire, please take utmost care while doing this pooja.

Its not necessery that you only light lemon lamps. if not possible, light a ordinary earthern lamp or any lamp you can. ( Don’t ask me if you can light electric lamp. I am surprised people ask this strange question too…ha… ha…. kaliyug …)

More information in this article about Lemon lamps pooja

Goddess Durga Mantra – Aigiri Nandini

People in North india mostly sing Durga Chalisa and also Recite the holy durga saptashati. I really love this Durga Mantra – Aigiri Nandini and its truly divine to listen remembering Goddess Durga…

Click here to Download Aigiri Nandini Durga mantra

Sairam friends, I hope this article which took over 2-3 hours for me to write helps you realize the greatness of Guru Bhakti and Devotion on Goddess Durga. I am not saying life’s going to be BIG once its done but as you know the big dangers which comes will surely be reduced to small ones which can be overcome .

Naam smaran – Chanting of the Gods name is the greatest way to help ourselves. So if you have no time for other pooja , visiting temples etc, atleast chant

Sai Durga …Sai Durga..Sai durga..

or lets say chant

Any small mantra of Durga or simple ” Ma Durga..Ma Durga…Ma durga…”

If you can do naam smaran for 10 minutes a day, your life will surley be good by Sai Durga’s grace.

I requested my Sai Friend Nandini to share her simple and sweet Everyday Morning Pooja . I felt it will help new shirdi sai baba devotees and also regular Hindu Devotees who worship their favourite Gods. The pooja items thats available in India may not be easy to acquire abroad. So i request all of you to share your way of Doing everyday Morning Pooja as comments to this article or mail me from email in first page.

Goddess Lalitha Tiripurasundari

Everyday Morning Pooja for Shirdi Sai baba and Hindu Gods

Sairam Venkat,

I chant LalitaSahasranamam on Tuesdays and Fridays. It is also auspicious to chant that on Pournami days but I am not able to do it regularly. I usually start my pooja with Ganesha Pancharatnam and Saraswati slokas. These I chant even before I sit for pooja. When I sit down to begin my pooja, these are the things I do. The whole process, if done in a most simple way, will take about 30 minutes for me.

1. Change Baba’s shawl after wiping him with perfumed water.
2. Light sesame oil lamp (ghee lamp on special days), show agarbathi etc. chanting small Gayatri slokas of various Gods.
3. Then I begin chanting Mahalakshmi Ashtakam and Lalita Sahasranamam. It usually takes about 25 minutes. Some days I also chant Sri Suktam and a few other Devi slokas. But it all depends on how restless my daughter gets before that!
4. Daily I keep kalkandu for neivedyam near Baba’s Feet before I start with the chanting.
5. Next is karpoora arati. But again, I do that only when my husband is next to me, taking care of our daughter.
6. Some days, if she is quietly sitting and playing, I will get to read some scriptures after the chanting.
7. Finally, I offer my namaskarams and finish off my pooja.

As for flowers, I have to buy them from shops since I had no luck with potted plants. So I am not able to offer flowers daily. But we do have basil (tulasi) plant at home and I try to offer basil leaves during the pooja. (Please do NOT offer tulasi leaves for Ganesha).

This is my morning pooja routine at home, Venkat

Nandini

Friends, Now share your way of everyday morning Pooja which can be inspire and motivate others to do simple pooja every day…

Sai Mahalakshmi pooja to bless StarSai family friends for peaceful married life

Goddess Mahalakshmi who came to my house as my gift on my Amma’s birthday on march 23rd 2009. I have been worshipping her for over a year now. I also consider her as the consort of Lord Dattatreya “Anagha devi’ . I kept other Gods near this mahalakshmi while doing kumkum archana.

Reason to do Sai Mahalakshmi pooja to get married :

Getting married, being in love and taking it farward towards marriage , finding the suitable life partner , solving the financial and personal problems in marriage issues and finally leading a peaceful married life is all that many shirdi sai baba devotees need.

Marriages in india is associated with education , financial status and looks of the bride and bride groom. It could be the same any where in the world but in india, if you are born , you are supposed to get married “on time” . “On time” can be 23 years old in some families and in some 30′s. Parents consider it as their biggest responsibility to choose the right life for their son and daughter. Gradually due to matrimonial websites, men and women search their life partners with few clicks and imagine this is what i need.

If at all someone escapes from falling in love , they end up liking someone when they search their life partners and feel the pain when things doesn’t work out.

At times sai friends write me saying their parents don’t like their soul mate as he/she doesn’t have a good job, not secured financially and yes from a different caste . For years i used to be close to these friends and i have realized i din’t do anything for my dear friends irrespective of them speaking to me with affection asking if sai will do “something’.

The Gods living in my house :

I love Lord Surya a lot, many times i have mentally felt his presence in my life his grace and my mother has taught me the importance of bowing to sun god every morning . I have a beautiful face of sun god – Surya deva, Mahalakshmi in bronze whom i got for my mom’s birthday on march 23rd 2009 and a marble Goddess saraswathi who came to our house on a holy akshaya tritiya day.

I also have a shiv lingam with nagam who came as my gift for my parents wedding day.

Expressing love towards Sai Datta :

I light lamps to all my gods along with the Sai and Big Dattatreya who came all the way from shirdi to live in our house . Sometimes when i realize how much Datta tolerates a impure man like me , i take him in my hand , keep on my lap and hug him tight. I kiss him and keep him back on the wooden platform which is my pooja place. My mother scolds me if she saw me carrying statues in hand. She says if you consider them as god give respect and dont touch often. Hope i will realize the need to let Sai Datta remain pure with out my selfish human expression of devotion.

With my Shirdi Sai baba, i am much more close. I ask him ‘ Sai , did you had food” . I give him naivaidya of food in little plate or not but i always ask him “sai baba , saaptiya ” . Its my sai who gives food for me and all lives on planet but then he needs my love too. Like my mom i ask him ‘ Sai, did you have food ”

Blessings for peaceful married life :

I wanted to do something for all my sai friends whom i call as “StarSai family children ‘ . Some loves someone and waiting for his/her parents permission for years, some wait for their partner to settle down in career and some searching for right soul mate. They keep writing to me , i reply..they write..i reply..they do pooja , go shirdi, one girl went even to Gokarna, papanasam and many sacred pilgrimage just to make sure she gets the right husband.

Sai Mahalakshmi Pooja and Kumkum archana to all Gods :

Its my 61st week of Mahalakshmi pooja day . i DID abishekam to Sai baba, Dattatreya, Ganesha, shiva lingam , Lord Surya and Goddess saraswathi. Then placed Mahalakshmi over a ever silver plate which i used only for kumkum archana. Then i arranged the Ganesha, shiv ling, Meenakshi amman , Lord Surya’s face – Surya deva and goddess saraswathi .

I offered white flowers beautifully over mahalakshmi and started chanting

“Sai Mahalakshmi

Sai Mahalakshmi

Sai mahalakshmi”

.. I take a pinch of Kumkum in my finger and chant in mind 9 times , then offer over the beautiful mahalakshmi, the kumkum falls over all other Gods, Ganesha, Surya, Saraswathi, Shiv Ling and Meenakshmi Amman.

Sometimes i chant “Mahalakshmi Ashtakam”

Then i chant

Sai datta

sai datta

sai datta

Then i chant…

“Sri Sai ganesha, Sai paadha lingam ,

“Om sai namo namaha

sri sayee namo namaha,

jai jai sayee namo namaha ,

sadguru saayee namo namaha”

Then i chant Sai surya, Sai Surya …Sai Surya…

as i keep on chanting , My mind dwells in the divinity , purity and holiness of Gods. I could feel Mahalakshmi in beautiful mountain ..I can see the Gods. I feel their presence and that they show darshan to me.

I pray for all sai children who wish to get married, solve all the problems, guide them showing the right path and lead them towards peaceful married life.

I prayed for my parents , sister , brother in law and their baby Katya. Then to all my starsai family children who ever are close to me, who ever mailed me in past and who are going to mail me in future.

When you read this believe that Sai Baba and Goddess Mahalakshmi will surely show the right path for a peaceful married life. Make sure you don’t be stubborn that i only what to marry this person, i only need this personality , this aspects etc. Try to see beyond your desires.

Say Sai baba ” I keep myself and my desires in your holy feet, Sai you do whats good for me and bless me with a peaceful married life. Let me be a devoted Husband/Wife and lead a life of righteousness”

This is not a typical pooja which is ritualistic. This is something that came from bottom of my heart to see my sai children happy . When they write to me that they are peacefully married with good health, peace and prosperity. It makes me and Sai happy.

This afternoon one of my sai friend called me asking for help. I worried as i dont know whats happening and i cant talk to her and if something serious. I told “saibaba, you are helping your children always . So i shall do a small offering with devotion and you take care of all sai children ” .

Shirdi Sai baba with beetle leave offering ,Mahalakshmi , ganesha, saraswtai and datta

Theres a Beetle plant in our house. I carefully plucked 2 leaves, washed them and offered infront of our sainath. I kept 2 paadhukas of sai over the beetle leave and 2 nuts .

Then i prayed Saibaba to bless my friend and help her and accept this offering for all Sai children who needs his help.

shirdi sai baba with his glorious divine vibrant smile blessing you

Then i took these photos as saibaba of my house looks milk white after many month.

Real bath for saibaba statue apart from regular abishekam

for long time i dint cleaned my saibaba statue. Well abishekam is there but the marble statue was getting dirt sticking to it which will go only if we clean with new tooth brush .

3 days back, i told saibaba, please let us have bath and nicely cleaned using margo soap with new tooth brush. Now i am satisfied that Saibaba looks Milk white like his soul.

Friends, if you also have dirt sticking to saibaba statue, please only every 6 month use a new tooth brush, take some bathing soap also which is new only for sai and clean them . Use a tub especially for sai abishekam. Then do the normal abishekam

Its recomonded you only do milk abishekam and then with water. if you mix kumkum, chandan etc and do abishekam to marble statue meant for keeping in house, then it sticks to marble and color changes.

Paadhukas of shirdi sai baba kept over beetle leaves offering

( I usually keep a devotional article in news paper as cover over the wooden stool over which i keep all gods idols .this time i kept a brochure from new york film school. Somehow for years it was my dream to do a course there but it never happened. I felt unfulfilled desires can be satisfied atleast when i use them to serve sainath as a cover for wooden stool )

Saibaba bless all your starsai children and help them.

Now lets all pray saibaba to help us by chanting

Om sri sainathaya namaha

or simply

chant

sai sai sai

sai sai sai

Sairam friends,

On Dattatreya Jayanthi i listed to the beautiful chantings

Dhigambara Dhigambara Shree Paadha Vallabha dhigambara

I still remember my visit to Datta paar mandhir which is mentioned in sai satcharitra ( nana goes here ) near the banks of Godavari river in kopergoan on the way to shirdi .

I did abishekam to Lord Ganesha, Mahalakshmi, Shiva, Sai paadhukas, Saraswathi and the beautiful Shirdi Sai baba and Lord Dattatreya.

From the book Shree Paadha Shree Vallabha Charitramrutam

Life of saint Shree Paadha shree vallabha

First avatar of lord dattatreya.

The holy book Shree Paadha Shree Vallabha Charitramrutam says the incident where Shree Paadha shree vallabha who incarnated as first avatar of Datta in 13 century requests Hanuman to take avatar as a sadguru.

Few months back i did below lemon lamps pooja to shirdi saibaba and lord dattatreya.

Dattatreya and Shirdi Saibaba blessings

Hanuman says i am only a servant of God. How do i deserve to take avatar as a Guru. Shree paadha says

“Hanuma though you served Rama, you are a perfect celibate and you have to take incarnation as a sadguru and yours will be samartha Sadguru incarnation”

Shree paadha shree vallabha says

After this avatar as shree paadha, i will take avatar as Narasimha saraswati . Then i will be in tapas in forest for 300 years. then i will have a 3rd avatar as Swami samartha. When the time of my samadhi comes, i will incarnate in you and you will be known famous as Sainath.

While telling this Lord Hanuman sees a miracle . Mother Anusuya is having a child and this moment where Shree paadha blesses Hanuman to incarnate as sadguru came to be known as Datta Jayanthi.

Well, the real Dattatreya jayanthi is celebrated all over the world by datta devotees as the birth of Lord Dattatreya. I am writing only what i read in the book shree paadha shree vallabha charitramrutam and i believe it as a sacred book.

For all of you sai devotees, sai is incarnation of any god you think he is. Its in your mind set.

Since today is Datta Jayanthi, i wish to post this message.

Om sainathaya namaha

You can chant

Jai guru Datta, Shree Guru datta

or

Dhingambara Dhigambara Shree Paadha Vallabha Dhigambara

or any chantings you love.

Sairam friends,

There are many Sai devotees who have not mailed me personally but had started doing the sweet Pooja sai inspired me to create. I kindly request you to follow the instructions in the below Link

StarSai Shradha Saburi Pooja

StarSai Shradha Saburi Pooja

Some Saibaba devotees have done pooja in very organized manner combining with the usual prayer they do. Trust me, there are no rules in sai devotion. You can do the Pooja as you feel comfortable. Just make sure your mind , body and soul is unified in Sai bhakti.

Keep chanting Sai Sai Sai

( StarSai Shradha Saburi pooja is copy right protected and i wish it remains a simple pooja to inspire everyone. I dont want anyone to make books and sell it. You can farward the url

http://www.starsai.com/starsai-shradha-saburi-pooja/

to your close friends who are sai devotees . Let them do it if they like.

Om sainathaya namaha

Apart from Starsai shradha saburi pooja, many devotees used to see starsai and ask me a question about Shirdi Saibaba Coconut lamps Pooja

Hundreds of Shirdi Saibaba devotees has read that Coconut lamps pooja for Shirdi Sai Baba and asked me one question.

“Sairam Venkat, what should i do with the coconuts after the ghee/oil is over?”

The answer is simple -

What will you do with the lemon when lemon lamps are lit, Obviously you will dispose it but when it comes to coconut, sometimes the inner part becomes dark as that also burns and sometimes it looks edible.

I don’t recommond cleaning and having it as prasad. My humble request is please let it cool off few hours, Sprinkle water to make sure theres no fire or smoke and then

1.Drop in a garden or bushes or under trees ( if you have garden in home)

or

2. Once its completely cooled, its ok to drop it in the Dust BIN.

The use of coconut is only untill the lamps are glowing…once its done, you can throw them to dustbin and its ok to do it. I believe some devotees think about washing the coconut and have the inner part as prasad but in India, we can never say oil and ghee are available in various prices. Some can afford good quality and some can’t . So better follow above instructions.

Lighting coconut Lamps:

Please read the link in beginning of this article if you also like to Light coconut lamps pooja for sainath Maharaj.

I request you to remember the following friends :

To Light coconut lamps you can use

1.Ghee

2.Gingelly oil ( Til oil, Nal ennai as they call in tamil)

3. Coconut oil too but i recommond Pure Ghee to be more auspicious as anything that comes from cow brings auspiciousness)

1.Be very careful while lighting coconut lamps and keep a eversilver or bronze plate and make sure it stands steady. Do not light coconut lamps if you dont have a safe place at home. Make sure you remain in home when lamps are glowing..it takes few hours if you use Ghee.

If you have to go out then dip the wicks inghee and make sure its completely off and then move.Keep in safe distance from children…They can worship but you must keep an eye on them.

2.Use thick wicks…i mean many wicks togather to light coconut lamps as its going to glow big and beautiful. If you light in open area in temple etc, wind cant put off lamps with thick wicks.( some temples many not allow coco lamps…make sure they do and some family members may not like ..so see if all cooperates…i dont want to create problem in your house…ha ha)

3. Once Ghee /Oil is over, sometimes the coconut itself burns along with wicks. Personally i allow it to happen as i work with Dhuni with high fire while cleaning it and i believe sai will always make sure its safe for us. ..if you feel its unsafe, try to put off by using any flowers or any other safe means or sprinkle water carefuly. Then let it cool off few minutes and then sprinkle water..drop in garden or better in Dust bin after allowing atleast 5 to 10 hours to cool off.

Sairam friends

This is the little StarSai temple my father built for me to worship Saibaba as i wish in the entrance of our house. As its diwali 17 :10:2009, i desired to light many lamps to our shirdi saibaba and make Sai Happy.

I shall post more photos of StarSai temple later…heres a Gift from me to all Sai children who loves Saibaba and also lighting Lamps .

( Note – All Photos and contents copyright protected. you can post link to this page but not directly the photos in other websites. – venkatraman photography )

Come Celebrate Diwali with Shirdi Saibaba in StarSai temple

Shirdi Saibaba blessings by lighting lamps in starsai temple

All the day i was in saibaba temple in our hometown and again i wanted to go back in evening. I felt that saibaba will be happy only if i light lamps in this little saibaba mandhir my father gifted me outside the varanda in our house. You can see in above photo behind the kalasam on top is money plant !

Adjacent to this temple is a Tulsi pot . Every morning i wash the temple with 2 buckets of water and then make saibaba sit inside, apply vibuti, kumkum and light one gajalakshmi lamp.

3 month back i got a dream in which Shirdi Saibaba asked me to light 12 lamps regularly. I felt atleast during the festival of lights – diwali i must light many lamps and worship saibaba. So fastly i arranged everything, lit lamps and took photos and then started as usual to saibaba temple in our place.

Look how beautifully shirdi saibaba’s face is glowing in the golden light of lamps offered to Sainath with love and devotion

Two Shirdi Saibaba statues in our small mandhir accepting light n love

Remembering the Chawdi procession of Saibaba :

We have read in sai satcharitra that every alternative day devotees will take Saibaba from his Masjid Dwarakamai to Chawdi and this will be held as a procession. Its said that Devotees used to play musical instruments ,offer flowers light lanterns etc and it will be a magic to see Saibaba slowly walking from dwarakamai to chawdi.

The below photo where we can see Saibaba’s face is in almost red color makes me remember the words in sai satcharitra that Devotees used to through Red color gulal powder over saibaba and during this time saibaba’s face glows with radience . Probably saibaba more beautiful than how he looks in the below photography.

Shirdi Saibaba blessing with his radiant beautiful face

Sairam friends,

It took hours for me to take the photos of Saibaba , Infact i wish to do chanting of shirdi saibaba after lighting lamps . Many times my sai friends asked me to take photo of our small StarSai mandhir so today i felt if i take photos many sai children can see the beauty of Saibaba and there by they will respond with more devotion.

So rather than chanting for a hour if i take photos then thousands of sai devotees will be inspired to light lamps and also chant any small mantra of Sai or simply chant Sai Sai Sai with love

My love for lighting lamps :

In the Shirdi Saibaba temple in our hometown only few devotees comes untill 2007 and they had a little tray to light lamps. From 2008 the crowd increased and now so many thousands come to the temple. Many of them lights lamps and candles. Every thursday saibaba has blessed me to stand near the big tray devotees light lamps for hours.

I love to light the lamps which is put of by wind and i will take off the lamp which is over so that other devotees has space to light lamps. I really enjoy doing this little work for saibaba and feel blessed when ever i get this opportunity. Lighting lamps is so sacred friends. Please keep it as a habit.

Shirdi Saibaba temple of lamps

Happy Diwali

Please light lamps every day in your house. Atleast 2 diya ( lamps ). Its very auspicious to light lamps regularly… It has a great power to make your family live in peace , good health and prosperity.

Let everyday be festival of Lights for Saibaba who lives in your house !

Om sainathaya namaha

C.VenkatRaman

Always in the holy feets of shirdi saibaba
